I had a wonderful experience publishing my debut novel with Atmosphere Press. My editor was fantastic and became a real champion for my book. The layout process went smoothly and the cover design blew my socks off. Holding my baby in my hand for the first time was a thrill! The only thing I would have done differently is forgo the additional marketing package. It was very cookie-cutter and did not really provide anything I couldn't have done myself. In fact, the results of the marketing I did on my own far surpassed those I paid for. Publishing is their strength. Marketing not so much.
