I can’t speak highly enough of Atmosphere. Have written one book to date, which was published just a few months ago. I was particularly impressed by the natural friendliness and help given every step of the way, including each step being carefully explained beforehand. The major ones are the editorial and interior design, and their head rep is for me the true star of the entire experience, Ms Alex Kale. Her helpfulness is so heartfelt it seemed she became like a friend! Ronaldo, head of Cover Design is a top professional, a real gent too, totally respectful of the author’s ideas on both front and back covers, so one does have all the input wished for. They just turn it into a brilliant reality … and it’s the end product that actually counts most, and I was overwhelmed by how good mine was - both inside and out. So I have no hesitation at all in recommending them to any author, especially a new one like me! There’s hardly anything in life that’s perfect though, and there was actually one downside for me: the final step in the process, regarding publicity was really underwhelming - not in the least what I was looking forward to. If they can possibly improve that, and I mean without extra charges, then yes, Atmosphere will be the perfect publisher. But thank you anyway guys for the great work (overall) you’ve done!

I had a very positive experience with Atmosphere. Of course, with any publishing process there are glitches. For me there were a couple of times I didn't know what to ask and got caught in circumstances that weren't comfortable, but ultimately got resolved, thus four stars rather than five. Getting a book to publication is not easy but it's very satisfying with Atmosphere Press. From the very beginning I could envision my book's publication. The artistic team is amazing. And, there are many tiers so that I could choose the support I needed. I am happy with the post publication support, too. Having a hybrid press in these times makes the difference between having the book you want or no book at all. Glad to now be an author thanks to Atmosphere Press.

Publishing my first children's book, "Felicia Flamingo and the Florida Friends" was a truly pleasant and rewarding experience. My involvement with Atmosphere Press was enjoyable and stress free. Each team member was courteous, professional, and certainly helpful. Having had no knowledge concerning book publishing, Atmosphere was always available to answer any question, and address any concern that I encountered. I would most definitely return to Atmosphere Press should a second book be forthcoming.

Atmosphere delivered what they promised and more. They really cared about my book. One person managed the project from beginning to end. Their developmental editor was so helpful, she really made a substantial difference in my book. Their line editors were excellent.The design director did a fantastic job creating the cover. Beautiful job. Truly love it. And once my book was finished they were there with some helpful ideas. My book was given the Independent review of the month and it was nominated for a prestigious award in the UK. I cannot say enough positive things about Atmosphere.

I had an excellent experience publishing my collection of short stories, Misfits, with Atmosphere. I'd published several books before with mainstream publishers--five children's novels, and two non-fiction books. In none of those books did I have any say in the cover. In contrast, I found it a pleasure to work with Ronaldo Alves and his design team and was delighted with the final book cover. I received valuable editorial input from Colleen Alles, and the entire editorial process--layout, interior design and copy editing--went smoothly. I'm proud of the resulting book, which has received very positive reviews, although not equivalent sales. In the end, you cannot count on Atmosphere's marketing department to sell your book for you. I enjoyed my interaction with everyone at the company and might consider publishing another book with them. I just wish they were a stronger sales advocate for my work.

"Terrific Experience Putting Together My First Book"

I'm 71 years old and I have battled Parkinson's disease for over a decade. But I have always been a writer, even though I never published a book. Fortunately, I found out about Atmosphere about a year ago. I submitted three stories to them, and they responded with four pages of incredibly detailed, on-target feedback. Thus, I felt they would be a good publishing firm to work with.

I was right. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of putting together a book made up of poetry and short stories (fiction). It's out in public now, and I can't believe how many five-star reviews I'm getting from Kirkus and elsewhere.

They have a great and friendly staff who helped me decide what my cover should look like, how I should order my poems and stories, and how I should respond to outside reviewers.
