"Great value for money and responsive staff"
I chose Atmosphere as my publisher after looking at their contract (which they publish online) and the services they provided. When I used them, every person I dealt with was friendly, supportive, patient, and responsive. I've heard other publishers won't allow writers to have much, if any, input into the publishing of their work. Atmosphere took everything I asked for and made it happen (unless they thought it wouldn't work, which I appreciated). I did my own book marketing because that's my background. I liked them so much I used them twice!

"A seamless and great experience"
As any writer knows, getting a book published is no mean feat. Unfortunately going the traditional route is virtually impossible for most authors – finding an agent, who then in turn finds the right publisher for your book. Unless you are famous or already a well-renowned author you are probably going to travel down a long road of rejections. And it’s not because your book is rubbish, it’s because agents and publishers are in it to make money, too. They will only take on a project that is a guaranteed profit for them.
So, we have alternatives out there — self-publishing, which is way out of my skill set, or approaching a hybrid publisher like Atmosphere Press, which I did. My experience with them was very positive. There are three different packages to suit your wallet and it’s entirely your decision which one you choose. There is no pressure on their part to spend more money. If you want website design, it’s available, but if you wish to design your own website, then that’s fine with them. Likewise with marketing.
I have now had two novels published with them and have been happy with both experiences. The two rounds of editing I had with Megan for each book were both thoughtful and professional. Ronaldo was very accommodating with any changes I wanted to make to my covers and the results were beautiful. Cam, Alex, Hayla and Elana have all been very responsive to any issues I may have, and I have enjoyed working with them.
I will finish up by saying that I had a terrible experience with another publishing company in the UK, who not only took my money, but never published my book. So not all hybrid publishers are created equal. Atmosphere Press are up front with what they deliver; there are no hidden costs. If you’re thinking of taking the hybrid route, then they’re the ones to choose.

"Atmosphere Kept Every Promise"
My name is Jessie E. Turner and I am the author of Moon in the Day Sky: Valley of Thunder published this year, 2024, by Atmosphere Press.
Originally, what drew me to Atmosphere Press was their endorsement by Writer’s Digest. I have trusted Writer’s Digest for decades as a reliable resource for writers. With Atmosphere I have found my trust well placed.
The costs have been compensated by high-level tutoring comparable to any college course I have ever taken.
The company claims are lofty, but I have found that every promise has been fulfilled. I’ve been in partnership with Atmosphere. Yes, I’ve worked very hard along with the staff, but I’ve been amazed at the results. And I love being in control of my book’s future.

"A Partnership with Pros"
"And Always One More Time: A Memoir" was my first published book ever, and Atmosphere made me feel like I had professional partners every step of the way. Like all great teachers, they made me work hard and sign off on everything from editing to cover design, making it a true and respectful and supportive partnership with professionals who know what they are doing. I cannot report on their publicity support because I opted to do all that work myself using their extremely thorough "Book Promotion Guide." The cover design process and outcome was superb (Ronaldo Alves; Felipe Betim). Their audiobook distribution process was also superb and wide reaching (Evan Courtright). Note: I elected to narrate the audiobook myself with an outside audiobook producer and Atmosphere was fine with just doing the distribution. Finally, long after my book was released out into the world and I had paid Atmosphere in full, they still have been responsive anytime I had a question or issue. I adore the CEO, Nick Courtright, who also answers me personally whenever I reach out. Nick says: "Once an author, always an author." We are in a long term relationship.

"I’m very happy with my experience with…"
I’m very happy with my experience with Atmosphere Press. They are right there with answers to questions and getting a book out that you can be proud of. Ronaldo Alves created a beautiful cover based on my desires. The inside is excellent. Every member of the team helped me satisfactorily. I have a beautiful website created by Evan. I’d pay more money to get more marketing help, but unfortunately that’s not possible for me. People who have read my book and poetry love it! Passion & Provocation, Selected Poems by Judith Partelow

"Overdelivered in nearly every way"
The publishing process couldn't have been better. The team was professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. My picky editing professor from graduate school would commend the editors and proofreaders I was assigned. And the cover! Spectacular, and it won a Gold Medal award from the Florida Authors and Publishers association. Atmosphere did a good job getting reviews and interviews. I hope they'll expand their marketing to include more services relating to Amazon and social media promotions.

"A great first step"
Overall, it was great to work with the people at Atmosphere. They are all kind and dedicated to your work through the whole process. A downside is that unless you buy the extra book publicity package you have to do all the publicity yourself. Which is the biggest downside for me because I’m so busy. It’s also expensive to publish with them, though I’m sure it’s cheaper than complete self publishing.
I do enjoy working with everyone at Atmosphere because they really do care about the author. It’s a very good option for stepping into the publishing world.

"Atmosphere Makes Lovely Books"
I've published two books with Atmosphere now and am in the process of publishing a third one, as well as taking part in a comprehensive writing program that they are offering. So obviously I think very well of Atmosphere, its artistry, its directness and its concern for its authors.

"Two books with Atmosphere"
I have published two books with Atmosphere in the past year. Their strength is delivering a good-looking book that is nice to look at both inside and out.
Kudos to the cover designer, layout, and proofreaders, who were all top-notch professionals.
The managers for the project moved it from point to point in an expeditious fashion.
They did a nice job with the Amazon page for both books.
The audiobook process was easy to work with and a very positive experience.
Marketing is not their strength. If you (as an author) think they will come up with ideas specifically for your book, you will be disappointed.
In the time (18 months) I worked with the people (all very nice), I got the feeling that only two people read the books.
It was like, We don't need to read the book to sell it.
The marketing suggestions are boilerplate for all of their authors. If you need a boilerplate template, then that's okay.
If you are looking for an idea for them to try to implement, it doesn't work that way. Their marketing people make suggestions, and you do the work.
If I do another book with them, I will change the package I buy to exclude the marketing.
