All the au pairs we have received in the last 10 months arrived with zero baby or toddler experience, and had seriously lied to get themselves into the program. One of my au pairs turned her back on my toddler while he was alone in the swimming pool to call a friend. Another au pair used to drive my baby and toddler around in our car while she picked up strangers she met online and take them on joyrides. My children could have been seriously hurt or worse more times than I can count while under the care of the au pairs that Cultural Care let into the program and endorsed. It doesn't matter what happens going forward, nothing can ever make that right.

We are a long time cultural care host family. In more than a decade of hosting au pairs I have never encountered such a weak pool of candidates. The site has too many au pairs who have extremely poor English skills, weak driving skills and mismatched expectations of the program with low priority on the child care duties and high priority on their social time.
