"Absolutely shocking company"
Absolutely shocking company! The third party paid out at the begining of Dec 24 . Yet this company have still not paid the balance to our finance company. I am phoning every week and getting nowhere! They paid us the excess on the claim on 23rd of Dec after an email of complaint but for some reason are not paying the balance they have of over £3000 to our finance company. I have emails that they have the funds but no reason as to why they won’t pay it 😡

Waiting for payment from Qdos which they Callum told me was cleared on 27/1/25. Called customer services and Emailed mark reynods financial director, but I’ve had no response. Now contacting ombudsman for advise..

"Responsive customer service"
I can't really judge them on how helpful they are with breakdown as I had policy with them ages ago, but today wanted to close my account to delete my data and they were fairly quick with responding to my emails. Despite not being paying customer anymore customer service was attentive and my request has been processed within a day.

"QDOS IS A SCAM COMPANY WHO DO NOT RESCUE YOU FROM A VEHICLE BREAKDOWN"
I urgently advise anyone NOT to take out breakdown cover with this company!
Despite being very happy to take your money they look for any excuse NOT to actually assist you when you break down.
If it appears your car is in "Limp Mode" even though it isn't, they will suggest it is and then not recover your vehicle or rescue you.
They are obviously looking to leave you on the roadside and NOT rescue you. My vehicle was not in "Limp Mode" but they suggested it was, so they could wriggle out of the rescue.
This company is crooked and their sales technique is a complete sham. They take your money year on year but then will NOT assist you at the very time you need their assistance. I have been paying money to them for a number of years and the first time I asked for help, they wriggled out of it.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT ENTER INTO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM!

"Truly disgraceful "service""
Truly disgraceful "service". My exhaust became detached while driving on a narrow country road - it was hanging down but still attached at the back, so driving forward was impossible as the exhaust box dug into the tarmac and was EXTREMELY dangerous. After about 25 mins on the phone the very cold telephone operator told me the claim had failed as the car could move forwards and backwards!!! No acknowledgement that driving forward would be possible for maybe 5 feet before I destroyed the underside of my car, or harmed other road users. PLEASE do not go near this company. They left a lone female stranded on a dark country road and were plainly just geared to refuse all car concerns.

"This breakdown company breaks down customers"
I have been with this company for years because I was happy with them but that seems to be all in the past - not only did my car break down but I almost broke down too. When I first made contact I was on hold for 30 minutes - then was made to answer a long list of questions - like an exam. Finally, I was told that I had failed. Apparently, they now view punctures as accidents. They used any excuse not to honour the policy. My car has a puncture kit but no spare tyre and I was miles from home and there was continuous thunderstorms. Using the puncture kit I got enough air in the tyre to drive it to the nearest Halfords but it still took me 7 hours to get home. Had I been in a more desolate place I would not have been able to do this and I might have been in a vulnerable situation. I was trying to avoid this by buying breakdown insurance. I was disabled, elderly, and on my own. They knew this because these questions were in their exam.

"This Company will leave you stranded - dont use"
I had a puncture in my car’s rear tyre abroad and then called QDOS for help.
I was told I didn’t qualify for pick up as I had a spare tyre in the back of the car but informed them that I was on the motorway and the spare tyre was only good for 50km and the nearest turn off was over a 100km.
They said my claim was rejected and left me there.
I had to travel over 400km on the spare tyre to get to a garage that had a tyre for my car.
AVOID THIS COMPANY - you will regret using this company - DO NOT USE !!!!!
I wouldn't even give them one star if I had the chance !!!

Loads of hot air promises. Lots phone calls and email all a wast of time. Then to say it a written off we can’t help

I had a puncture in my car’s back tyre yesterday and immediately called QDOS expecting help.
After an excruciating set of questions I was told I didn’t qualify for pick up as I didn’t have a spare tyre in the back of the car.
I have never had a breakdown company say this and with the size of my car it is not practical to have one in the boot.
I had my kids at nursery waiting to be picked up and needed help. They were clearly looking to find a reason not to help.
Unless you carry a spare wheel in your boot AVOID THIS COMPANY

"Foreign travel cover"
The second most common reason for breakdown is flat tyre. Qdos will not cover that if you do not have a spare tyre and jack.Most new cars and certainly Volvos do not carry spare tyres.
