I was apprehensive about trusting any company with all of our valuable belongings, but I can't recommend 1st Move enough. We moved from the UK to the Cayman Islands - door to door this took around 10 weeks, which was in line with our expectations. From our initial enquiry, Tom was so helpful and understanding of our needs. The quote we were given was very accurate compared to our final cost. Dave called me before the removals team arrived to ensure I knew what I needed to prepare and what to expect. On the day of collection, everything was so smooth and efficient and the driver was in great spirits, especially considering he had left Bristol at 5am to get to us! Geri ensured that the logistics with payment were handled without any issues. We were given tracking information for the first ship our container was on, and an estimated arrival date. Tessa was absolutely fantastic at keeping us updated and liaising with the shipping lines on our behalf. Everyone at 1st Move who I came into contact with was so nice and had a great sense of humour - they are a great team and really helped to make a stressful time a lot easier!

1st Move International went above and beyond for me. After they arranged for our stuff to be picked up in London we realised that we'd packed our son's passport in one of the boxes 🤦‍♂️ I immediately drove to their packing warehouse in Bristol and arrived at 5:30pm. The 1st Move team went out of their way to stay late and help me find the missing passport. The team were all kind and friendly and you could see that they had a very well run operation with knowledgeable staff that have been doing this for years.
I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

"These guys are top notch"
These guys are top notch. We had them move two pallets worth of stuff from a storage container in London all the way to our neelw house in Alabama. Everything went way too smoothly. Every single item we had was professionally packed and carefully put together into two pallets. Not a single one of our items was damaged or is missing. Pricing was very close to the initial estimate, and their communication was thorough throughout the entire process. Could not be happier or recommend their services with more enthusiasm. Awesome job!!

Being an elderly widow....my moving from the UK...to Canada was a huge change for me. It was something I had wanted to do for many years. My only grandchildren are in Canada.
To be honest I was very stressed at having to transfer personal effects.

"Not happy with hidden costs"
Not happy with hidden costs. The 1st Move invoice (which we paid before export) clearly states "Charges are to overseas depot only and excludes all local charges in relation to etc etc" I read this as local charges at destination, not local charges UK, so was surprised to find a ÂŁ476 extras bill (received at port of destination) that related to local costs in UK, not costs at destination! That was another bill, but was expected.
The phraseology used by 1st Move needs addressing

"London to Mexico City removal"
Had a international removal from London to Mexico City with 1st Move and it went very well. Took almost exactly three months door to door (Oct 13 to Jan 14) which is more or less what I expected, probably would have been quicker if it hadn't been around the holidays. Everything on the Mexico side (customs, transportation) went flawlessly as well with the Mexican company that they have partnered with. I mostly packed my own stuff so cannot comment on packing quality, but the few things they did pack (which was mostly the fragile stuff) arrived without a scratch. I know Mexico is probably not a common removal destination for Londoners but would absolutely recommend them given how limited the number of companies that ship there.
