"This tour was worth waiting for."

We, along with another couple, originally planned our trip to Ireland in 2020. We paid our deposits the week before COVID became big news. Within a few weeks it became apparent we would have to postpone until 2021. When 2021 came, things had not improved much, so we postponed to 2022.

This year we finally made it! But, after two years, some personal issues required us to change the actual week, which meant our agent had to adjust things for us. She was great, and made everything work out for our new date. She was patient and considerate throughout the planning and replanning, and the trip was absolutely wonderful!

The accommodations were very first class. The hotel restaurants were equally grand, with plenty of delicious food. The staff at each one was well-trained and very helpful.

Our driver/guide was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about places we requested to see, and very helpful in suggesting other places when we had extra time in a particular area. One place we had not specifically requested was a sheep farm, and it turned out to be a real highlight for our group. The demonstrations of the young Border Collie herding the sheep and responding to commands was spectacular!

So, we thank our agent and also our guide for a very enjoyable trip, and would highly recommend this tour of Ireland.

"Ireland by rail trip 2 years in the making"

My family and I (7 of us) were originally scheduled to go to Ireland in July of 2020 by it was derailed twice by COVID. My travel agent at DI was Maria Lieb and she did a wonderful job of making all the arrangements and keeping me informed during the 2 year delay. We finally made it to Ireland in July 2022 and it was great! Everything Maria arranged for us was wonderful! John Lambe, our greeter at the airport, was absolutely lovely - very knowledgable and very entertaining!! The hotels Maria booked in the locations on the tour were perfect and close to all the good sites. And the Sean McLoughlin Chauffeur Service was so kind to let us change the plan of going to Bunratty Castle to take us to the Cliffs of Moher instead. We could not have asked for a better trip! And we were extremely fortunate to have great weather the entire week. Very happy with the service provided by DI!

"All round excellent service, itinerary, accommodation and information."

I rarely rate anything as excellent, but in this case it's justified. It was a holiday where the overall effect exceeded the sum of the parts. All aspects were really good, the itinerary, the routing, the accommodation, the helpful venue information supplied by Discovering Ireland and also the service from the office in handling queries. The car hire worked well too, although I'm not sure that the satnav expenditure was justified.

We had a fabulous trip to Ireland thank you to Tina O’Connor. Tina took the sites we wanted to visit and selected wonderful hotels for us to stay at. Our Drivers, Oliver and Charlie were wonderful! Very fun to be around with great stories and extremely knowledgeable.
I would highly recommend Discovery Ireland to plan your trip to gorgeous Ireland. I would love to come back.

We have just returned to the US from an amazing Ireland holiday! Maria with Discovering Ireland helped us put together a 12 day trip of a lifetime. Everything was perfect..from picking up our rental car, to staying at wonderful countryside B&B’s with the most wonderful hostesses, or hotels with amazing views, or staying at the luxurious and stately Ballyseede castle. We loved every minute of our holiday. Check in at the B&B’s and hotels were smooth and without problems. The driving route was a joyous experience! We saw sites and met Irish people that we won’t soon forget. Additionally, after we returned our rental car, the Dublin Hop On Hop Off bus was easy to use and informative! "Ireland Take 2!"

This is the second time Maria has helped us plan our trip through Discovery Ireland. Last time (2017) she helped us plan a family trip for eight. Not an easy task. It was a fabulous trip within our budget. Maria helped us make all the arrangements with our own driver and fabulous locations to stay.
This July we traveled with two friends on their first trip to Ireland to show them our favorite spots. Once again Maria helped find great spots to stay within walking distance of our favorite towns and gave suggestions on new places to try. A boat trip to see the Cliffs of Moher was definitely a highlight of the trip. I emailed regarding a car rental question during our stay and Maria promptly reached out on our behalf and reassured that everything was taken care of. I have recommended the company to many people. Would definitely use them again!
