"Constantly crashes!!"
Camtasia is a great tool when it works, easy to use, and intuitive. However, it crashes constantly - I used it for 8 hours yesterday and it crashed every 20 minutes. It doesn't always autosave and even when saving regularly myself it somehow deletes the saved work! Meaning A LOT of wasted time spent re-doing work and force quitting/restarting the tool.

"I've been a Snagit customer for years"
I've been a Snagit customer for years; it is a great alternative to more expensive products (like Adobe) if you don't have heavy graphics demands. I primarily take screenshots and draw system architecture diagrams for tech docs, so I'm not doing intensive photo editing by any means. Never crashed.
I've used Camtasia for the past two years. It does seem a little buggy - I get a wierd black screen randomly when I clip video segments, and the file size it produces seem unnecessarily large. Also, the media directory isn't relative to the project, so if you move a project around you have to relink all your media. But I would still recommend it as a product for video production - again, not a power user by any means.
Customer support is just fine - sometimes they can help, and sometimes they cant!

I have read about Snagit being malicious and started looking by myself... I found that when you download there's no viruses at all, but when you want to record audio from system they force you to download snagithelper2020 <-- this file is very hard to find by the computer search but I could explore, make a copy of it and VIRUSTOTAL searched a keylogger in it. I'm not sure if this is a False positive as long as 1 antivirus of many could search it. But seems to me that we need to be more carefull about them.

"Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service"
Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. They give you zero ways to send them an email. Their notices of open hours flash off the screen in an instant. They send you emails about exciting new products, but require you to dig endlessly to find how much they cost. It is an endless waste of time to deal with them. And they say how much they value their customers. WRONG! They come across as arrogant and uncaring. Something is badly amiss with their customer service system.

"An appalling company"
An absolutely horrible, incompetent company that makes appalling software that never works.
I bought Snagit and it constantly had glitches and issues and problems whenever I used it. Techsmith constantly tries to get you to upgrade whenever you logon.
This is the company without decency, morals and values or and it shows in the software they have created.

I've had a lot of account issues with these people, and they are utterly incapable of doing the simplest of thing, such as deleting an account. They spam me with notifications from years old posts, and its impossible to unsubscribe. Or delete my account. And 0 out of 10 customer suppert people has managed to help.
Steer clear! Multiple other similar, and surely better services than they offer.

After 2 hours of trying everything to get it to work, i found out it doesn't work on Alienware computers, unless i uninstall their command centre. I dont get it how cant it work on a i9900 64gb computer. at least tell me upfront before i waste my time. and its not just alienware computers, theres loads of issues getting the video recorder to work on different forums. they have some serious bugs in it for the last few years i guess they want people to buy Camtasia

"Camtasia is a great product"
Camtasia is a great product I use daily, the only drawback is that the app can freeze when you work with an especially 'heavy' project. The overall experience is very satisfying.
