"Camtasia crashed again"
Camtasia crashed again. Had to turn off the computer to restart it. Not the first time it’s happened.
Now it's happened on my Laptop. I have my software key but it keeps saying their activation service is offline. Then I try it manually it states my software key is wrong when I am copying it directly from their website.
Tried customer service and never got a reply

"Best screenshot & video app, but they don't fix 3 years old bug and Snagit is now non usable"
Snagit is an exceptional screenshot and video recording app for Windows, offering immense utility and versatility. I rely on it extensively throughout my day for various purposes. One of its standout features is the ability to effortlessly capture partial screen screenshots and videos, enabling focused documentation. Furthermore, Snagit's intuitive editing capabilities facilitate quick modifications to the screenshots. Undoubtedly, Snagit has significantly enhanced my communication with others.
However, it's disheartening to note that there has been an unresolved bug persisting in Snagit for the past three years, rendering it virtually unusable for many individuals. This particular issue arises when capturing screens with HDR-enabled displays, resulting in washed-out and overly bright snapshots that inaccurately represent the content displayed on HDR screens.
Numerous users have reported this bug to TechSmith, as evidenced by the following support thread: [link to the support thread]. Despite the bug's prolonged existence, there seems to be no visible progress toward a resolution.
Regrettably, when contacting Snagit support for assistance, their recommended solution of disabling HDR proves ineffective, as it compromises the screen's visual quality, negating the purpose of having HDR in the first place.
This ongoing issue is undoubtedly disheartening. It is our sincere hope that TechSmith will promptly address this bug in the coming days, allowing users to resume their work and continue benefiting from this otherwise exceptional product. The resolution of this problem would undoubtedly safeguard Snagit's reputation as a reliable and invaluable tool in the long run.

"Remember to destroy the current version so they have to upgrade"
I have used Techsmith's Camtasia for many years. I actually love it when it works BUT THERES ONE REAL THORN IN THE SIDE...
Every year AS SOON as their new (requiring payment) version is released, the version you're on becomes absolutely unplayable.
At this point I assume this is planned because:
1 - This happens every single year on the drop of the new version. Coincidence? I think not.
2 - After the new release, my once perfectly-working Camtasia becomes riddled with problems - absolutely no system changes have occured.
Techsmith you would get 5 stars if you didn't do this. If you just make the new one better, loyal customers will upgrade AND recommend you.
By the way, I always upgrade (don't want to learn a whole new suite in this class) BUT this adds hours of frustration to completing the final projects I have on the old version (can't risk losing them during an upgrade).
I also use Davinci Resolve Studio (paid one) extensively and have not experienced this when updates are released. Although not as screenshare-focused and a bit more advanced it's a fantastic editing suite and the standard version is 100% free.
Camtasia, whether intentional or not, I hope you will fix this. It's worse than planned obsolescence and ruins an otherwise good product.

"I just want to cry"
The recent update to 2022 meant that my camera set up no longer works. It crashed a few times with the other camera too. Really annoying!! Techsmith have said they didn't test or reccomend the Canon EOS webcam utility; then why did it work on 2021 - magic?! I did try 2021 free to make sure it worked an it did. So I bought it.
Then there is the crashing; i use Camtasia for my business. Setting up the lessons takes a long time due to the nature of the work. To then sit there, record half an hour of video after a 2 hour set up, and have the software crash is totally unacceptable. This has happened MULTIPLE times, and not just with this camera. I just can't so pack up and go home, it's soul destroying, and a motivation killer.
So today, I set up, open Camtasia to record. Record a lesson, stop the recording, aaaaaaand, it didn't save it, says I have to log in and add a license, which I had donr and do have! WHY did it let me sit there like a muppet and record a whole lesson if it wasn't going to save it???
Camtasia is so integrated in to my business now, it's difficult to change.
That being said, the editor is great.
FIX THE BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going home

"Very bad audio on Camtasia"
On my Apple ID, I bought the Camtasia 2021. The audio on a recording is so bad that cannot understand the audio. Buying this low-price software is a waste of money.

"Techsmith deleted all our videos."
Techsmith deleted all our videos....We are a small educational organization that made some interactive videos with Camtasia. Because they used interactive features, we hosted them on techsmith's website. During the pandemic they sent us a message saying that all videos that hadn't been accessed in a year would be deleted. We thought we were fine because there are teachers who use our videos every semester. Then they deleted the videos anyway. When I contacted customer support, they told us there was nothing they could do. Bottom line: don't trust TechSmith to host your videos.

"Poor poor poor customer service"
Poor poor poor customer service. Their software keys do not work correctly. Sometimes they send them to multiple emails so all your keys are not on the same account. Customer service is only M-F for very LIMITED hours. So if you are working outside that window.... you will have to WAIT till they decide to respond...which is a while.

"A must have !"
I’m a heavy IT user and quite frankly I would miss SnagIT and Camtasia if I couldn’t have them. They are useful and necessary for me.

"Downloaded Camtasia as Techsmith advise…"
Downloaded Techsmith Camtasia as Techsmith advise that they offer a free trial. Nowhere within this free trial download offer do they make it clear that you won't be able to publish anything without a massive watermark unless you pay for the product. Very misleading and underhand sales tactics in my opinion, and it's not a free trial at all if you can't actually produce your content. I wouldn't buy Camtasia for this reason alone. If you can't trust the company before you buy from them, what chance do you have if you do. They have also now flagged my review suggesting it may be inaccurate and asking for my telephone number and reference, I don't have a reference for their free download and I've certainly no intention of providing them with my telephone number. Just look at their free download of Camtasia and see whether they advise you won't be able to publish without a huge watermark. The facts speak for themselves on this one.
