Delta Auto Protect

"“Contact Your State Board of…"
“Contact Your State Board of Insurance”…Was the advice my attorney gave me, base on the horrific service and the numerous shameful broken promises I received from this company. I can validate almost, every terrible review I have read on this and other sites. I only wish I would have read them before taking the word of, in my opinion a conman-like salesperson, who told me that Delta had an A+ BBB rating; and was the best warranty company on the market. As of today, I check with the BBB and found that Delta Auto Protect has 908 Complaints and an “F” rating. I believe my best remedy is to help others not make the same mistake I did.

"Red Alert !!!!!!!"
Red Alert !!!!!!!
Do Not Use this Company.
I have been. Waiting 10 months for a refund. Delta continues to Delay Delta Delay.
Customer service is non existent. Unable to talk to anyone else.
Takes on average 30 minutes for anyone to pickup.
In 10 months I have received only one E-mail with false processing promises. Delta just continues to shift responsibility. Delay and misdirection is their plan until one gives up.
Terrible Company. Save yourself a lot of grief. Do not deal with these guys.

"Beware of this SCAM Delta Auto Protect"
I wish I could do negative stars & anyone who has posted positive stars is either an employee or family member of this company that is now facing a civil lawsuit by the Pennsylvania Attorney General to get money back for consumers & auto repair shops which fell victim to their auto repair scam. I have already submitted with the Attorney General of Pennsylvania, Attorney General of Minnesota, but did not want to share my horror story about my experience with Delta Auto Protect until now since they do everything they can to intimidate you in their cancellation refund agreement (Saying you need to remove anything negative that has been said & not post or anything negative about them in order to get and keep your refund.). It also says other things that are pretty much all to their benefit. They have the wording that way just Incase something would happen and they’d actually be required to issue a refund they promise.
We purchased a Delta Auto Diamond Premier Policy thinking it would be the same as a factory warranty with no deductible since that was how the sales person Rick Roma explained it. We had no issues until Summer of 2019 when we had something go out in our car that was a covered component but the company did and said anything and everything they could think of in order to deny coverage (I worked in insurance claims and I know how coverage and policy language works, & they did not handle it right. They handle things to their benefit exclusively.). Therefore we were stuck with that repair bill & decided to cancel after way to much back and forth regarding the claim with someone who was often referred to as a claims or customer service manager named David Wright. When we decided to cancel we were beyond upset at that point and were then told to provide an image of the odometer & to complete an electronic cancellation. We were told multiple times by Aaron Lynch that once this was completed we would get our check within a week during one recorded phone call. He said this when we called in after my spouse had called in stressed about all of this because it was summer & we have young children and she has a heart condition & we then had no working AC in the car because of them. More than a week goes by & my wife calls back in & a woman says nothing has been sent out & that Aaron shouldn't have said that, and that we need to mail in a certified cancellation request. So right away I mailed that in with USPS delivery confirmation. I have confirmation that it was delivered on August 17th 2019 (A Saturday) so August 19th (Monday) would've been the first business day they would've had it if I am being fair (Even though they never have been.). I still have the call recorded with Aaron Lynch saying to just do those two things and we’d have our check in a week, and he clearly tells us those things. But as you continue to deal with them you eventually learn by talking to them, or through my recordings, that they say anything to get you off the phone. (I have that call along with many many others recorded.) since I had been told so many different things by so many different people, had been hung up on, had been told I would be called back & had not been, etc... I wanted to start keeping documentation and Minnesota is a one party consent state and I was (& still am) simply trying to protect my family & get the money we are due. (At this point now that the have breached their contract I want more than just a refund.) They can pay me back for what I paid for the policy originally, they can pay me back for the short term loan I had to take out to repair our vehicle because they would not, they can pay me for time I took away from work to try to reach them during the day when they leave you on hold and play games with your phone number by either flagging it so they can hang up on you or lie when they get you on the phone just to waste more of your time. They owe my family & never intend to pay & I am done with them.

"One star is too many"
One star is too many. Customer service is non existent. Try phoning them and take a nap. My used car , me being the third owner battery light came on so I went to the dealer and was diagnosed and reported to delta. The response to me was I needed all previous service records..dah. They told me the repairs would not be covered without them. They are history. Bibb was informed.

"POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES"
DO NOT, DO NOT do business with this company under any circumstances. My husband and I have experienced egregious delays in honoring our warranty agreement for repairs on our car. Numerous phone calls and abhorrent hold times all to be told that they will get back to us, they will send an inspector out to speak with the mechanic and inspect the car, etc, etc. Our car has been in the shop now for over 2 months without any decision on whether or not it will be approved for repairs. We have submitted all required paper work detailing upkeep and maintenance on the vehicle. At this point, I have to question their solvency. Otherwise there is no rationale as to why such egregious delays.

"HORRIBLE!! Seriously shady business practices! Read the reviews yourself..."
HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!! HORRIBLE!!!
STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!
Same issues as most everyone else. Came time to get my car repaired, they approved all repairs plus covering a rental car. They sent parts to my mechanic and my mechanic informed me that they were not OEM parts as expected that they were some knockoff aftermarket parts that would not even fit my car properly. Argued and argued with Delta Auto Protect and Aaron Lynch agreed to pay for Mercedes OEM parts that my mechanic would order. He gave my mechanic the runaround for days over the payment and my mechanic got fed up and just installed the crappy aftermarket parts that they were sent. Surprise surprise the ignition coils (multiple were sent and replaced) started failing IN LESS THAN A WEEK!! In the meantime they gave my mechanic a song and dance that they were having issues with their computer system and slowing payments and to get the payment from me and they would reimburse me. Of course I needed my car back so I had to pay 100% out of pocket. I then to this day have gotten the runaround of "oh yeah, right we need to send you a check, ok, no problem, I will have it in the mail tomorrow". I guess in their world tomorrow never comes because I have YET to receive a reimbursement check for the rental car or the first trip to the mechanic or the second trip to the mechanic and that time for parts and labor costs to replace the crappy parts that failed in LESS THAN A WEEK!
I went through the futile process of sitting on hold for hours, getting transferred a ton of times to people playing games and not willing to take responsibility, only trying to wear me down and even flat out getting hung up on when they answered the phone to then it ringing and being put immediately on hold for sometimes in excess of over an hour! I filed a claim with the BBB at the end of 2018 and Delta Auto Protect did respond to me with a crappy offer nowhere near sufficient as resolving the issue AND they had the audacity to send not only an NDA but one that used illicit business practices meant to automatically entrap you into violating the terms of the NDA and making you liable immediately upon signing it for 1. Repaying the money they were going to refund you but also 2. ALL of their attorney’s fees to now fight you on it and 3. Penalties for violating said NDA!
To explain that better, once you file something with the BBB you are agreeing to their terms and one of their terms is complaints are not withdrawn by the person who filed it. Only the BBB has control and they mark complaints as open or closed and when closed they give an explanation like resolved or unanswered (which are the overwhelming majority of Delta Auto Protects’ complaints on there). Delta Auto Protect contacted me directly and said they would ONLY give me the crappy offer if and only if I withdrew my complaint on the BBB website and took down any other negative review in any other place I had left one. Luckily they were dumb enough to put this in writing so I turned it into the BBB to let them know of the undue influence they were trying to force on me and shady dealings. There is now a warning on the BBB website about their illicit demands.
Delta Auto Protect also further had the audacity to tell the BBB that I had agreed to something I NEVER AGREED TO in an effort to get them to mark the case closed in a positive manner!! How deceitful and disgusting can they get?!?!
Of course I want ALL of my money back but more so I am furious that they are getting away with deceiving so many people!! When I first started fighting them I found a couple of dozen of others like me that they scammed now it has grown to hundreds that I know of and that is not counting the people who have not come forward online or who are still trying to fight them on their own thinking they are the only ones in their position.
THIS BEHAVIOR IS NOT OK!!! THEY MUST BE STOPPED!

"They will not honor their contract with you"
They do not intend to honor their contracts and will not pay for authorized repairs without a fight. If you have problems with them, call the PA AG's Bureau of Consumer Protection.
My first claim was for a stretched Timing Chain. It took Delta over 3 weeks to make a decision and they ultimately denied my claim using specs from a different engine model (not the engine I had in my car) to justify their denial. Luckily the shop I used was willing to work with me and they provided the specs for my engine, which proved the need for the timing chain replacement. I opened a claim with the BBB and PA AG's Bureau of Consumer Protection. In addition, I sent Delta a letter informing them I intended to file for mediation, per our contract. It still took them about 6 months to reimburse me and when they did, it was only a partial reimbursement. How many people can leave their car in the shop for three weeks while they wait for a repair authorization?
The second repair was for bad motor mounts. We tried to get this added to the timing chain repair above but after reporting this to Delta's customer service reps (twice, while the vehicle was still in the shop), they ignored it and accused us of not requesting an inspection to verify this, so we took the car back to the shop. It took Delta over 2 weeks to authorize this repair, which they did after we told them we had filed another complaint with the PA AG's Office. Delta did not authorize enough money to pay for factory parts so we agreed to cover the additional cost so we could get the car back ASAP. About a month after we picked up the car, the auto shop called and said Delta failed to pay their portion of the repair bill; this is the portion they authorized paying prior to having the shop complete the repairs! In the beginning, I had to call almost daily because Delta would change the rules and requirements, sometimes asking for information I had already sent them. Based on my last experience with them, I kept a call log. We have 72 phone calls dedicated to this one repair! In the end, it was the BBB, PA AG's Bureau of Consumer Protection and the letter I sent them informing them I intended to send this matter to mediation to finally get them to send a check to pay the portion of the repair they agreed to in the beginning.
As for rental cars, Delta will not authorize a car until they accept your claim and they will only authorize the rental car for the estimated time it takes your mechanic to repair the car. So if the repair can be completed in less than 8 hours, no car for you and no rental car for the protracted amount of time it takes Delta to approve of your claim. The rental car reimbursement is a scam and so is this company. I did get my money out of them (just barely) but it took an excessive amount of work to get them to honor the terms of their contract.

DO NOT BUY A DELTA AUTO PROTECT EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN !! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!
The saga continues....
01/15/2020 14:03 I called 866-598-5429 Option 3.
After a 13 minute wait, Jasmine picked up on the Delta Auto Protect end. I've dealt with her before and she never has an answer.
After providing my Extended Service Program (ESP) number and name I asked for a status of my prorated refund request that was made 8 months earlier. She stated " SHE COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ANSWER DUE TO THE COMPLAINT I FILED WITH THE PENNSYLVANIA ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE.
DO NOT BUY A DELTA AUTO PROTECT EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN !! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!
I informed her that this complaint was filed back in early December 2019 and I should have an answer by now. Jasmine could not or would not provide a status. I asked to be transferred to someone at Delta Auto Protect who could provide me a status and her reply was "NO ONE AT DELTA AUTO PROTECT COULD PROVIDE ME AN ANSWER". She then hung up
