I was looking for a phone system for my business and home with specific requirements. I wanted a physical desk phone (As I don't get on with Apps or Softphone, a bit of an old man!) which could handle both Personal and Business calls, most importantly, when the phone rang I would know if it was a Business or Personal call!
VOIPfone have a wide selection of phones all are tested to make sure they work on VOIPfone network. So buying a phone I know it would work out of the box. I also wanted a headset as I plan to stay on the phone for a long time.
The platform is easy to use, and I was able to set up a different custom voicemail for each business and personal phone without too much trouble. Plus set up custom business hours to keep my personal number always Open but my to working hours.
The only downside was they have no stock of the headsets, I asked to be notified when the stock was in and was advised they don't offer that service nor could I pre-order. Hence the 4* review.
Overall, I would highly recommend anyone to VOIPfone. I am certainly going to be a customer for a long time.

Avoid at all costs - this company DOES NOT and WILL NOT replace a handset if it becomes faulty after VOIPFONE testing remotely, they push you to buy another phone! Very bad business to deal with!

I relied (and still do) on Voipfone for a couple of my businesses. The number is cheap, it is simple and easy to use, the functionality in-house is great. I completely rely on Voipfone to provide my SIP trunks (unlimited). My only criticism (minor) is it is not easily compatible with 3CX, but hey, life goes on. Calls to mobiles aren't the cheapest going (I'd like a business unlimited package) but likewise, it's not insufferable.

"Excellent customer service at Voipfone."
I would just like to thank David at Voipfone. His customer service was second to none and he was as committed as me to get my phone working and baffled as to why it wasn't. We couldn't fix the problem at the time, but I took on his advice to call my ISP. I had a call with them and they actually sent me a new router. Low and behold, I followed David's guidance on the website and it worked straight away. Thank you David at Voipfone!

"I can't recommend Voipfone enough - excellent all round"
We switched to Voipfone to save money off our bills, but they have done so much more than that. They certainly do save us money (a four-figure saving per year over BT), but we also get more functionality and far better service than we got from BT.

"This is rather a mixed review"
This is rather a mixed review. On the positive side I had been with Voipfone for at least 5 years and generally during that time the call quality, availability and support has been excellent and hence they should get a 5 star rating.
Hence why 3 stars?
I recently moved abroad and although I maintained the same router and phone, but different ISP, my phone was unable to maintain registration, even though I have fibre directly to the home. My other two SIP providers had no issue. Support tried very hard to resolve the issue, but without any success. Thus I was forded to migrate away and in my case I selected SIPGATE.
However, Voipfone charged me £24, for migrating my number away, even though I had paid them to migrate the number in originally.
I thought this was unreasonable since I was being forced to migrate away in the first place as they were unable to provide the contracted service as my phone wouldn't register in a reliable manner.
I thought this was inappropriate and hence the 3 star rating.

Yes, a Voipfone month is 30 days and their year is 360 days, and their support staff act as if this is perfectly normal and does not need to be pointed out when discussing a query about why my billing date changed. This was when I paid for 12 months rental of a geographic number in advance, and asked why the "billing date" for the second year was different to the start date. (The invoice just says "12 Months UK Telephone Number"; the new billing date was only mentioned in an email confirmation.) I queried this 3 times, by email, and each email reply just talked about adding 12 months and reiterating the new billing date. By then I was pretty angry, but searched their web site before ranting. This also just advertises "£2 per month" except in the Ts and Cs, which do spell it out in one paragraph (and which I presumably forgot about a long time ago). Now, I have not encountered a 30 day rental month since we were trying to run accounting systems on computers with 64kB RAM. Yes, I agree the loss of 5 or 6 days a year from a £24 charge is not really worth complaining about. But a moving billing date is going to cause me a significant amount of extra effort in my accounts, and the lack of clarity on their web site is surely a matter for the ASA. Not to mention the apparently inaccurate invoices, which some may consider non-compliant with tax regulations, and the extremely unhelpful way my query was dealt with. It's a shame; this would be very easy to rectify, and otherwise the service has been excellent.

I have been with voipfone for about 5 years now, and the service and reliability has been excellent.
Their online portal was a bit old and not easy to use, but now that has been revamped to be more modern.
And any issues I have had, I have been helped quickly over email, phone, and just today using the chat feature with 0 waiting time.

"Great service and i'm still looking for any downside!"
After doing a lot of research, I decided to cut the cord on my landline and port my number over to Voipfone.
The process was friendly, speedy and the team helpful and responsive to my questions along the way.
I've now ditched my fixed line ISP and I've kept my long time landline number - I'm currently looking for a downside and finding non!
Call quality is excellent and the tools including mobile app, first rate.
Can't recommend enough.
