"Stay Away - Prelicensing or CE - I Wish I Had..."

Used examFX for my prelicensing for both Personal Lines and P&C and did fine. Passed the practice and final exams for examFX, and ultimately passed both licensing exams on my first attempts.

But now I'm back for CE and I deeply regret returning to examFX. I breezed through their Homeowner Valuation class but then took their Commercial module and was in for the shock of my life.

On the first practice test I scored 92% but I failed the final exam with a mere 52%. Undeterred, I reread ALL of the curriculum (and noticed, like others, that examFX doesn't edit their content for typos, redundancies, or wrong answers) and retook the practice test, doing even better with 96%, so I was very confident the final exam would be a cinch. But I ended up with 60% and still didn't pass.

Long story short, I've taken the practice exam four times, scoring between 90-100% each time, but I've taken the final exam TWELVE times and I cannot pass it (52-68%).

I've worked in insurance for 15 years. I passed my commercial licensing exam on the first try less than 18 months ago. I was an honor roll student from high school and college. I'm an excellent test taker and have never had any problem with any kind of testing, until now. This is the hardest test I've ever taken (including the GRE and Commercial Insurance licensing).

And there's no way to figure out what I'm doing wrong as they only let students review answers to the practice tests, not the final, and I didn't miss anything to review on the practice tests!

In utter frustration on like my 8th attempt (and since the final exam asks a LOT of questions not covered in the corresponding curriculum), I called my boss and asked for help. He helped me on that try, but we couldn't do it.

On the 11th try, I asked Google for help and was so confident I would pass with it, but again, I did not. I missed 20 of 50 questions on both my 11th and 12th tries!

My problem is that I've spent over 20hrs in this 4 credit class and I still can't pass it! There are other modules I've PAID examFX to take but I no longer want to. I don't have another $80 to waste on new versions of what I already paid for! I also don't want to move on to a new module until I pass this stupid test. OMG its so frustrating I can't stop crying.

Never has someone else's professional ineptitude inspired suicidal ideations in me until this nightmare with examFX. Luckily, I have some friends who talked me down off the ledge after my 12th fail.

I read another reviewer here that said examFX inspired him to quit his profession and the industry ALTOGETHER. Sure wish I would've read that before I returned to do my CE there. If examFX just provided a useable product, none of this would be an issue.

But instead, they make people quit their professions and contemplate suicide? There's got to be a better way.

I Retired 8 years ago at the age of 63 and due to the current economic situation that is limiting for me and so many others, I decided to return to work. My particular job required a license in my state of Maryland.
I purchased the Examfx study course. Being over 70 years old, and over 50 plus years since being in a class room and taking tests in college, I was more than just a little bit worried.
However I can testify that the course exceeded my expectations!
The chapter studies and tests had me well prepared for the practice tests that prepared me for the final exam prior to taking the faux state exam to qualify for the state license test.
I was absolutely ecstatic when I took the state exam and passed 16 points above the state required minimum score.
I have now applied for my Maryland license and should have it in a few days.
I gave this review 5 Stars only because that is the highest rating available.
It goes without saying that I am a happy camper with the results and highly recommend Examfx!

This is a great tool for learning the essentials and getting yourself into the world of insurance. For anyone reading reviews before purchasing a course, understand that you won't be able to simply memorize these questions and then you're good for the state exams. Take your time, understand the context of the questions you're presented, and learn the course material. Simply memorizing answers won't get you anywhere. The context for the questions is what will help you pass your state exams. Speaking from experience, the state exam questions were worded completely differently from the ExamFx questions, which is why it's important to learn!

More than thorough course work ! That's all !!!! I could not have chosen a better online course ! Although I was hoping for a 90 I scored a 86 on my first try! It took 2 weeks for me to study and get everything down packed. If you're thinking about getting your license this is definitely the place to choose. Their practice exams are far more tough than the actual quiz ! So you will be more than prepared.. Thank you Examfx!!!

ExamFX was very easy to navigate and follow during the entire course. Each module was well thought out, easy to understand and insightful. The practice exams were very helpful in preparing for my State exam. 3 days after completing my ExamFX training, I scored a 96 on the state exam the first time.
