I was first introduced to Harris Balcombe following a house fire in a rental property. This was obviously a very traumatic event as well as a costly one and I was completely uninformed about what to do to even begin the process.
Harris Balcombe were reassuring, knowledgeable and . They gave me a clear overview of what would happen in the process, told me exactly what paperwork they needed from me and dealt with my insurance company and contractors on my behalf. It was such a relief to have someone on my side who knew how the process should run and ensuring that it did.
I was assigned my own contact, Samantha Hamer, who dealt with the case throughout so that I had a continual point of contact and she was fully aware of every stage of the process. She was supportive and reassuring. I found it really difficult looking at the wreckage of the house but she was quick to point out that she'd seen much worse and that it was entirely possible to have it repaired and looking better than new.
She dealt with all of the lost earnings claims on the rental and otherwise took the responsibility off my shoulders.

Harris Balcombe and our loss assessor Samantha Hamer supported our insurance claim following a lightning strike and subsequent fire and flood. The claim was complex and made more difficult by a challenging loss adjuster. Realising that we would need support to navigate the process, we engaged HB who rose to the occasion, providing Surveyors and restoration response to assist us through every step. We were able to work with them and were consulted every step of the way. Samantha understood our frustration and no doubt experienced a great deal of difficulty herself as she tackled the loss adjuster head on to effect. This process was not stress free! The week before the first COVID lockdown in March 2020 we had a major fire in our home. While the insurance company accepted it was a no fault claim they tried to argue that we were 50% underinsured and intended to apply averaging to our claim. After 3 months of trying to manage the claim myself and getting the run around by the loss adjuster and insurance company I was recommended to contact Alex Balcombe through a friend of a friend. Alex took on our case and immediately started to fight our corner. He guided us through the process for both the contents and building claims, and interfaced directly with the loss adjuster and insurance company in fighting the under insurance claim. When we finally needed to involve a legal firm Alex also advised a suitable legal firm to engage and after more than 4 years, and an overwhelmingly strong case with multiple independant surveyors rebuild estimates which Alex helped coordinate, the insurance company finally accepted to settle without discount.
