"Heat Pump installation team"

The heat pump installation team, Rhys, Luke & Evan arrived promptly, worked very fast and hard. They did not stop for breaks or cigarettes, and they refused all offers of tea and coffee. They were extremely helpful and discussed all the possible options with us. I am more than happy with how they handled the job. I am a Chartered Building Engineer with over 50 years experience and I have rarely had such a good experience as working with this team. Refurbishment is difficult work but this went well. Happy to recommend them to all.

I had Smart Energy Homes undertake the ECO4 works at my home. Rafal and his team arrived on time every day and even working until 7pm to get the job done. They spent 8 hours one day drilling a hole through the wall for an extract fan (the joys of granite).

Heat pump and solar were done by local companies and we are receiving payments for the excess electric generated.

"I was entitled to the Eco for grant…"

I was entitled to the Eco for grant absolutely so happy that we was able to get this.entitled to solar panels and air source pump. All the workmen were all polite and hard-working but some things did not go to plan. There was a mistake the Earth wire Was removed somewhere else in the house so we had no earth for three weeks. It was put right as I was suspicious that things didn’t feel right but it was put right. floorboards had to be taken up some of them and cut Now I am left with squeaky floorboards which don’t feel safe anymore so soon as I have enough money I have to try and put that right there is gaps in the floorboards so I’m not happy with this at all. I did not expect this. I have mentioned this to them and they have not come back yet , but a man did check the Air Force pump. I mentioned it to him and he did screw down a couple of boards but they were chipped and split and they were not before I believe this to be replaced maybe if they had a carpenter or I saw a carpenter would be able to put it right so that is disappointing. I believe that Eco grant is absolutely great and a very good idea especially if you’re eligible.the work from start to finish took several weeks it is a upheaval for the family I have an extractor fan put in and had one replace which was working it is lovely to have hot water. Not sure about the air source pump with the heat in the house yet with the radiators as it’s summertime hopefully it’s okay but communication is very poor solar panels were put up in a short period of time a few hours but the scaffolding was up for three weeks but I was assured that was just to make sure that the roof was not leaking. Seems to be fine. But I do think it should be checked by maybe someone from an apartment from the council or the government to check to see if all work is satisfactory. Eventually, the rubbish was picked up. you have to chase them if you need something sorting. Fairly tidy. The workmen were all polite. The workmen liked to play their loud music. Like I said before I spoke with them about the floorboards and they said they will sort it it’s now been two weeks and nothing and it’s been signed off.

This is a preliminary review because we are only 6days into the job.
We felt we needed to say something at this stage because we have been fearful of the wet trade mess with wall insulation.
We feard unnecessarily when Lewys and Craige arrived they were friendly helpful and did everything to manage the process both professionally and with great understanding and respect for two 80 year old.
Smart Energy Homes have begun the process well in sending these guys to fix our home and the back up teams are working well to support us.
So I have no problem in recommending this company and especially ask for Lewys and Craige they have done a brilliant job it has quality workmanship and with all the bad reports about some of the organisations involved in Eco 4 work we are very lucky to had these guys in our home.

"What a truly aweful experience"

What a truly aweful experience, dry filling cavities, smoking in the childrens bedroom and blowing it over the children's bed, mess everywhere and not cleaning up, 2 scaffolding ladders left open, the absolute most hideous and poor quality plumbing, unsafe working practices and total disregard for the health & safety of householders. 7 days without hot water and heating. I dont believe this is a one off incident and judging by the reviews its not. Regardless if this is Eco4 grant funded work, I would never recommend or use them again for anything and would seriously discourage anyone from using their services. Notwithstanding the reply below: Be under no illusion, the work was so poor I made them dismantle and reinstall the plumbing properly. As Landlord its my property and very easily able to determine good workmanship from sub-standard and what is obviously harmful to the residents; babies breathing solder & flux smoke is abhorrent, in addition to leaving the smoke detectors sealed up with shoe covers after you left site. There is nothing spurious about my review whatsoever and is an honest and truthful account of fact for others to make an informed decision - my correspondence to you, video footage and photographs confirm all of the above.
Your resply is clearly self-interested, self-serving and dismissive.

Just had Simon, Marek and Piter here to do internal wall insulation, boarding and plastering as part of the ECO4 energy scheme. They were professional and hard working. What a disorganised company.
In my experience they are only after the grant money and have no experience in organisation of work and subcontractors.
The subcontractors themselves were ok, but the company themselves were terrible.
To be clearer, the work schedule provided was very brief, giving little detail and was not followed.
Organisation of t he subcontracors carrying out the work was poor.
Electricians attended to drill holes for vents, which were then left open for weeks before the vents were actually fitted.
The loft insulation company attended before the plumbers, who had to run pipework through the loft spaces, which meant they had to remove the insulation previously fitted.
There were delays between attendance of the subcontractors, with the inside of the house being left in disarray.
