I bought a small item on line from Screwfix and like many others found only after the money had gone out of my Bank Account (a) I had unknowingly signed up to Complete Savings and (b) Screwfix - if it was they- had shared my data namely my card details without my consent.
There should be a lot more transparency here. To be fair to Complete Savings they were quick to cancel the direct debit of £18pcm. However it is not a good look for UK retailers with a reputation to protect.

I checked my bank account last night to discover a withdrawal of 18 pound to complete savings ,so there I was for half an hour backtracking on where I spent it, couldn't work it out so googled them, didn't remember signing up to them so sent an email then cancelled any further payments, I phoned them this morning and had to ask if I was speaking to a human or a robot ,she confirmed she was human. It seems that when I bought a purse from Debenham I also signed up to this company and by paying with my card to Debenham I also gave my bank details to this company which are now going to cancel (which I didn't sign up for) and refund(which I didn't authorise) my money. It's a scary world where you buy something online and inadvertently give all your bank details to some random company and tbh I don't even know what they do, I told the robot, sorry the human this and she just repeated that it would be cancelled and refunded, at this I just thought why should I waste another breath asking this person about this companies code of conduct and practice that to me is a scam, I'll be more diligent in the future and I'll also speak to Debenham about their online business practice although that won't make a bit of difference.

I apparently signed up ro this company via zavvi..I was not aware of this until I noticed 18.99 going from my account..Once I traced them through my bank I was able to fathom who they were..I have to say after calling the company they were very helpful and refunded my money with no fuss..I need to be more careful in the future..I don't use zavvi anymore

"We received a full refund after…"

We received a full refund after discovering we had been paying money to them inadvertantly for nearly three years. Once we contacted them and discovered what had happened we were reimbursed straight away, the full amount. We had not used this service and was unaware we had it, but Complete savings fully reimbursed us. Please contact this company and discuss your problem as they are willing to help.

"Absolute scam"

I got an email saying I was to be billed £18 for a service I did t sign up to. When I made a purchase online through a well established retailer a pop up came up saying that I’d qualified for a discount from the retailer. Do not click that link! It’s a scam and once you click they get your details from your purchase and you are ‘signed up’ for a service you do t want with a 30 day ‘free trial’. I then got an email to say I was being billed £18 a month for the subscription. When I complained they said you had to fill in a form to join. I did not fill in a form. So I rang the company on the number in the email and I got a very rude guy with a cat meowing in the background saying that he’d cancel the free trial. When I asked him what he meant by that and had my ‘subscription’ been cancelled he got annoyed and said I should listen to what he said! Honestly?! I can’t believe that trusted retailers let this crap get attached to their online services! My membership no was 64124576007 and I refute the response saying I entered my details as I certainly did not!

"Good Customer Service and Resolution Centre "

After some confusion, I found that I had unknowingly subscribed to completesavings with payments dating back over 4 years. I spoke to customer services who were able to offer me a full refund, which as you can imagine amounted to quite a lot. Really good communication, via phone and email, fair resolution based on no engagement with the website. If there services are as good as there resolution centre, I’m sure I’ll be missing out on great deals - however not something I now or have needed. Thanks 🙏

Complete Savings were very helpful and courteous in providing me with a full refund for a service with them that I honestly did not know that I had “signed up.” Regular payments were deducted from my bank account each month. They explained how it happened. They listened to my opinion on how important it is that there to be no ambiguity (no doubt) at all in anyone’s mind in what potential customers are signing up to. Thank you again for providing me with a full refund and for excellent customer service.

"Underhand method to get you to join their membership "

It seems complete savings do have some satisfied members, but after completing my online ASDA purchase a pop-up came up offering savings and unwittingly signed up to complete savings. The annoying thing is I unknowingly signed up with them a couple of years ago. It isn't at all clear or obvious what you're getting yourself in to and no mention of a monthly subscription. I haven't put my card details into their website so I'm assuming they take it from ASDA as Asda seem to promoting this site. I've emailed them asking to cancel my membership and all I've got back is an auto response email. Be wary be very wary 3,200 people giving one star reviews can't be wrong. And take no notice of the BS responses on trust pilot.
