"Excellent Installation"

The ordering process was simple and quick, with any questions I had being very quickly and informatively answered by Nessy. Installation day was also excellently done, accommodating my wishes and placing exactly where I hoped it could in my garage without any fuss, all cleanly and professionally completed by Mal. Graham was also on site to observe the electrics, providing great additional information and also advice on my current electrical set up. I've yet to receive my car to complete my own testing but the initial testing completed on site was successful and Nessy was again very helpful in setting me up with the app ready to go. Overall I would highly recommend.

So since my original review I am happy to report that Egg stepped up and resolved all my issues, including completing the groundworks and repairing the minor damage to the brickwork caused by drilling the holes for the cables coming from the roof.

Thanks to Mia and Charlene for sorting everything out, and thanks to all the subcontractors hired by Egg to do the works. I am very happy with the panels and batteries now up and running, and already enjoying the benefits of both, despite the dull weather!

Since writing my original (and lengthy) review last week I have had contact from Charlene who is the head of delivery at egg and they have given an excellent response to all my concerns. I still as yet do not have a date for the remainder of the work to be completed however I am feeling more confident that this will be addressed to my satisfaction. I will update the review to reflect the final outcome.

So everything started off well; good appointment when inquiring, pretty good communication after agreeing and signing documents.
Spoke to my project coordinator on Monday with the solar install agreed for that Thursday and Friday where we discussed the groundworks necessary as the batteries and inverter are being installed in the detached garage so we wanted a small amount of groundworks to bury the cables in the garden. Said this would be no problem and I followed this up with an email and detailed photos showing where I wanted the cable to run in the garden.
Scaffolders came on Tuesday and it was a good job I was home as the date and time they were coming had not been communicated other than possibly 24/48 hours before install or possibly even on the day. Not a big issue though so up the scaffolding went.
Day of the install the subcontractors hired by Egg came promptly and were great, however nothing at all had been arranged for the groundworks so the electrician called up head office and was advised to carry on as much as they could while Egg would look at a quote for the groundworks. Egg then emailed me (a different project coordinator this time as my original coordinator was on leave) and said they would look into getting a quote for the groundworks and a date.
Panels were up quickly and I contacted Egg as I was obviously concerned that I had not been advised there was going to be an extra cost for the small amount of groundworks and this should, according to their contract, form part of the pre-install checks. Egg told me to leave it with them.
At this point all the main install work has been done however I have a non-functioning system as no groundworks have been done to connect the system to the cables and the electrician cannot connect the panels up as he can’t leave live DC cables hanging off the side of the house with nowhere to go.
I emailed Friday morning and then found my replacement coordinator was off today from the out of office I got, so I called the main number, explained the issue, and was told someone would call me back. No one of course has called me back and I’ve had no emails either so I have absolutely no idea what is happening.
As far as I’m concerned Egg have not completed their pre-install checks, despite me communicating exactly what I wanted done and discussed groundworks with me prior to any work or scaffolding occurring, now I’m under the impression I’m going to be paying extra at a point in the process where I have absolutely no ability to refuse the work necessary and go with another provider.
I find this really poor behaviour and would certainly recommend anyone considering using Egg to think hard about that.
I will say the subcontractors they hired have been great, the work looks neat and tidy and they’ve done everything they can.
Very frustrated overall though that during the install I’ve had very little contact and certainly none that wasn’t prompted by myself first, passed around between project coordinators, and I’m left with a system not connected as well as no answer to who is resolving the groundworks or when.

The ordering process was dealt with very impressively and courteously by IIona , with regular helpful guidance and assistance , thank you IIona. A room for improvement for the install would be better communication by the installers on the day . They knocked on the door at 07.30am . I would have preferred a text call in advance from them to confirm arrival time .

"Egg EV Charger Purchase and Installation Review"

Purchasing the Egg EV charger was straightforward, with a smooth process and excellent monthly pricing options. They included a complimentary isolation switch fitting prior to the main installation, which was a nice touch. Although there was a delay with the installers not arriving on the initially scheduled date, the team was quick to rebook us within the same week, and they were able to come just two days later.

The installation was handled by a father-and-son team who were not only courteous and professional but also highly knowledgeable about EV chargers. As fellow IT enthusiasts, we had some great conversations, making the experience even more enjoyable. Setting up the app was also very simple, adding to the overall ease of use.

In summary, Egg provided excellent service, and I’d highly recommend them. Excited to put the charger to the test when our new EV arrives!
