I had an outdated gas fireplace from the late 80's that had a shelf that wasn't level, wood trim that was coming away from the wall, a stone hearth that was cracked, and had to be started by turning on the gas with a key and then lighting it to ignite it which was always a scary process. Opted to upgrade and purchase a full mantle surround, slate facing and hearth, new logs, and most importantly, a remote-start. Erik Bigham, the GM at the Lisle location, was very informative and helpful throughout the process and went out of his way to research what fireplace I was upgrading as I had no paperwork on it. He was always very responsive and patient when I had questions and helped guide me to make the appropriate selections. The gentleman who came to my house to take the measurements (sorry, can't recall his name....Jason???) was very detail-oriented and took precise measurements that worked out very well so that the hearth replacement did not impede with my existing carpet, etc.

Once all the details were worked out and materials ordered, I had to wait several months, but it was worth the wait and the work was completed in time for the Christmas holidays. The installers, Steve and Victor, did a great job and were very professional, tidy and informative and showed me how to use the fireplace with the new remote starter, etc.

One of my neighbors had also used The Fireplace & Chimney Authority and was happy with her project, as well. I'm very pleased with the finished product and have received many compliments. The upgrade made a major difference to the look of my living room. Overall, a great experience!

Was suppose to clean chimney at the same time but service not included in the techs order.
Cost for what was performed was absurd

The service guys were competent, efficient and polite. They even came back the next day to explain what I hadn't understood about the operation of the unit. I also appreciated the fact that the arrival window was short and accurate. I'll use them next year for my wood stove as well as the gas unit. A great company!

Great customer service from start to finish! During the cleaning, new damper for the chimney was discussed and the new one was installed the same day (wow:) and what an amazing difference it has made in our living room. Chimney is so well sealed and no more cold air is felt and cost was quite reasonable. I would recommend this company any day! Perfect service really!
