"Truly terrible experience"

I've booked a journey from Antwerp to Berlin and back.

Firstly, the outward train was cancelled 3 days before the journey, so I had to buy expensive last-minute plane tickets instead.

Secondly, the return train was delayed by 30 minutes, but that was not the worst part.

Thirdly, the train itself was very old and dirty. I was in a 4-places couchette compartment. The ventilation was poor, it was very hot in the compartment. They didn't give us the mattresses, so we had to "sleep" on a stiff banks. The bedsheet was very strange and short. The blanket was synthetic. The pillow was small, so my neck hurted all the way. Also my hip hurted as well because of the stiff bank I hardly slept all night. My neighbours had the same experience. I thought I will get refreshed in morning, but the effect was opposite - I felt like I was needed another vacation after usch a trip. It is even worse that the Russian trains. I was really shocked to see such terrible trains in Europe.

And also it costs a lot, more than a plane ticket. I can't describe how much I am humiliated and dissapointed.

En effet, à l'allez, notre train a été annulé 48h avant pour cause de panne et nous avons du nous même trouver une alternative de voyage.
Pour le retour, notre voiture n'avait pas d'eau donc impossible d'utiliser l'évier etc, il n'y avait pas de wagon restaurant donc pas possible de manger et le stewart n'est passé qu'une fois après 1h30 de trajet donc compliqué d'avoir des informations précises.

Nous voyons ici que la compagnie est jeune et doit encore régler tous ces petits maux de jeunesses.

Néanmoins, l'expérience était très fun et je ne regrette pas du tout d'avoir choisi cette alternative.

Je le retenterai certainement mais en attendant que le service ce soit professionnalisé davantage.

Cesta tam v klidu, dalo se i spát. Cesta zpět, bohužel ve vedlejším kupé mladí Francouzi, kteří dělali kravál z Amsterdamu až do Berlína. Jednou byli napomenuti servisní službou, ale k ničemu to nebylo, dokud nevystoupili, klid nebyl. A v Berlíně přistoupili noví cestující, kteří již nespali, protože bylo brzy ráno, takže jsme spali v nočním lůžkovém voze asi 1 hodinu. Jinak jsou vozy staré, počítám alespoň padesát let a něco pamatují. Čisté ale byly, navíc ta výhoda starých vozů - šlo otevírat okno! Nejlepší na tomto vlaku je to, že přes noc se dostanete až na místo. A dokonce skoro načas - my meškali snad jen 15 minut. Cesta z Prahy do Amsterdamu. Jídlo a pití si vemte raději s sebou, je pouze v jednom vagonu, těžko říct ve kterém, navíc jen v určitou dobu, takže jsme nevyzkoušeli - navíc jsme nenašli nikde nabídku - nebo-li v kupé nenajdete žádnou servisní nabídku jak jídla tak pití.

Zeker een romantische herinnering aan treinreizen van 30 jaar geleden. Fijn om niet zelf te moeten rijden. Prettige medewerkers op de trein. Echter, het materieel is van langer dan 30 jaar geleden. Dat betekende: heel veel herrie, ramen die niet op kunnen, kei-harde en scheve bed-banken, gordijnen die niet goed sluiten. Kortom, zeer weinig comfort, dus slecht geslapen. En de prijs is dan behoorlijk pittig.
Jammer, want het initiatief om de reizen per trein weer mogelijk te maken is fantastisch. Hopelijk is het een investering in beter materieel.

"Great sleeper train experience! "

I used this service to do Brussels to Prague and back this week and I have to say I thought it was excellent. The carriages were clean and didn't look faded, the toilet worked fine and I had a good night's sleep both directions. I met some fascinating people along the way and the staff were really helpful and actually quite funny! I've been doing sleeper services for around 20 years and I'd definitely recommend European Sleeper.
