"Good experience"

Even though our train was late, trip was enjoyable , we sleep well on the train and we will use it again for sure! We meet some interesting people on the train also.

"Very useful train, but needs improvements"

The personnel is the strong point of this train, in the sense that everyone was very nice and tried to accommodate all needs. So the train staff really deserves all possible stars. They are polite, always smiling, helpful, patient. Please do ensure they stay this way. :)
However, the train itself is very outdated. Toilets that do not work, no running water, sockets that work every now and then...
But even all that would have been acceptable if it were clean. At least the sleeper cars could really use some proper dusting and vacuuming. The bed sheets were on the other hand clean and that was a relief.
Breakfast was nice, with proper portions. One does not need huge breakfast plates while traveling this way.
The train itself is a really, really good idea and very useful, but there is a bit of work still to be done. Europe really needs to be connected via night trains. I am for instance traveling usually all the way from Eastern Europe (Romania) to Germany, Belgium and France, therefore I know how great it would be to have such night trains running (I don’t like flying at all, by the way).
So do please pay attention to cleanliness. It might be a minor detail, but it is extremely important to make travelers feel relaxed despite the train being very outdated. And of course in time, when possible, it would also be great to think about some upgrades. :)
I will give the train yet another try thanks to their lovely personnel, and hopefully by then the cleanliness will have also improved.

17 hours on a train. It really needs much better catering, but it's a good start. Excellent staff

"Everything went perfect, give it a try!"

Everything went perfect. We already read about the use of old trains, so our expectations were not high. We didn’t get disappointed. Although the interior was a little bit worn out, it was clean. The beds were comfortabel enough to have a good sleep. We did the trip all the way from Rotterdam to Prague, and it was a nice experience, with my husband and two teenagers in a private coupe. And the plus: we didn’t fly!

Op 29-april de trein genomen van Amsterdam naar Brussel.

We hebben geboekt via Greencitytrip, die het uitbesteed aan European sleeper blijkbaar.

Helaas was deze trein erg vies en vind ik het boekingsproces best oneerlijk. Zo word je standaard niet naast je reisgezelschap ingepland en moet je dus standaard bij betalen voor zitplaatsen naast elkaar.

"Last minute cancellation"

Last minute (roughly 6 hours before departure) cancellation of our private, 2 person sleeper.

2 stars because they did offer some alternatives (50% off and couchette beds).
But the beds were not even in the same room (something that was not even in the email, I had to check online to find the seating map) and they were both on the upper levels. I am currently pregnant so going up and down the ladder did not make me feel safe at all. Plus, all the excitement, imagining our private little hotel room on wheels, was pretty much gone. We decided to cancel, and book two very expensive flight tickets, instead. All of this put quite a damper on our train holiday. We were really looking forward to trying these overnight sleepers, but given how expensive the tickets were in the first place and how unreliable they seem based on this experience, I doubt we will give this another shot anytime soon. A pity. We really need more good quality train transportation.

"Prima retour Deventer-Praag "

Retour Deventer-Praag gehad, beide keren prima op tijd. Oud materieel, maar in goede staat en heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Slapen fing ook redelijk. Aanrader als je snel en goedkoop naar Praag wilt, en een stuk beter voor het milieu dan vliegen!

"Really loved the journey bit of TLC needed"

Really loved the journey, carriage order was a bit confusing, also there are 2 carriage 3s one a cabin and the other seated.

Toilet door could do with some WD40

Also get a bed above ground level as the train banks alot.

Breakfast was delicious and train was punctual.

"Problem-filled journey"

The staff were friendly and helpful, but we had numerous problems on the outgoing journey to Prague (17th April 2024), as well as the return journey (21st April). Going out, I got trapped in one of the toilets for ten minutes. After much shouting and banging, a steward heard me - but she really struggled to open the door from the outside - it was one of those where the door swivels round along a track, but it was incredibly stiff. Later that evening, another passenger had the same experience. When we heard her banging on the door, we went to search for a steward, but it took us a while to find one. As you can imagine, it was quite a stressful experience being trapped like that.
Many of the other toilets were out of action; either the doors were permanently locked, or the toilet was nearly overflowing and unusable. I had to ask my husband to stand guard outside the toilet with the tricky door for the remainder of the journey, because I did not dare shut it completely again.
Another problem was that one of our blinds in our sleeper compartment would not stay down, so we were constantly disturbed by lights throughout the night. On the return journey, the water in our basin reduced to a tiny trickle. The smoke alarm went off twice (unpleasantly loud, with nowhere to escape to) - triggered by someone apparently spraying deodorant in one of the toilets!
The beds themselves were comfortable, but as can be seen, some serious modernisation/ improvement is needed here and there.

it is an old nighttrain that you use, i would prefer a newer one.
having said this, i had a seat, so i cannot compare sleeping in a train - the sleeping was very expensive (when one wants to be on his own).
