"I'm getting back into playing after 40…"
I'm getting back into playing after 40 years. Spent my misspent youth playing in bar bands at age 16 (I've got some stories). Found guitar tricks from reviews of online courses. Very good content. I even found courses on Delta Blues (I was amazed), after seeing an interview with Derek Trucks (Allman Brothers & other groups) on Delta Blues. So yes, Guitar Tricks has a great volume of interesting courses to use and check out. Great work, keep it going!!

"I am a couple weeks into learning…"
I am a couple weeks into learning guitar for the very first time as a middle aged adult (literally picked up an acoustic guitar concurrent with signing up for a Guitar Tricks subscription) and for me what stands out are:
1. The thoughtfulness of how the lesson "journey" is structured
2. The user friendliness and flexibility of the platform (i.e., ability to track, bookmark, download, slow down, speed up, etc, etc each lesson)
3. Really enjoying Anders Mouridsen's calm, thorough, and approachable philosophy to teaching

"Definitely better than other guitar learning sites visited."
Like so many others, I have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar. At 63, I'm making that happen. I took advantage of the $1 trial offer and within the first week upgraded to the annual as I was so pleased with the process. Similar to another reviewer, the name Guitar Tricks is a big misnomer. No tricks here, just thoughtful, helpful, and understandable progressions from one skill to another. I'm a week and a half in, and I'm terrible (for now), but I can see progress. Rather than promising instant "joy", Guitar Tricks is methodically helping me build basic skills one session at a time. Having the ability to stop the video, go back, review, and practice until I've got the basics is outstanding. I'm in it for the long haul. Kudos to Guitar Tricks!

"Second serious attempt at guitar "
I tried learning guitar about three years ago. I stumbled around YouTube for a while with no direction and did okay. I even tried lessons from the big chain guitar store. Sadly, tragedy struck my family and I had no foundation to fall back on and put down my guitar for over three years until recently. I found guitar tricks, looked at some reviews, and decided to try it. I am in my second week and feel like I’m really going to make it this time. I have found confidence in my abilities and that’s what it’s all about! I look forward to my lessons every day. The confusing thing is, to me is the name Guitar Tricks, which sounds gimmicky. It’s NOT A GIMMICK!

"Did some research and Guitar Tricks came out on top. "
Did some research and Guitar Tricks came out on top. I ordered it today and I accidentally purchased an extra option that I didn’t want, and I was able to get that fixed within an hour. Great customer service. I browsed through the program and liked what I saw. It has a lot of useful tools and a huge library of songs and lessons. it looks like it will help me for years to come. Best part is the learning track it puts you on. You get to choose whether you want to practice rock, blues, country etc…. You can even do all three. Plenty of other applications too, such as a tuner and metronome. You can even send a short video of you practicing to them and they will give you tips if you need help. Did I mention it also has a forum you can join that is for all people using Guitar Tricks? You get to share experiences with other people learning how to play. It’s important to have that network especially if you’re trying to learn how to play remotely. So far the experience has been great. It makes me feel more confident that I will be able to finally learn how to play the guitar.

"Let the buyer beware"
I have a couple of points that I need to bring out to Everybody’s attention who’s thinking about doing this
1. Do not use Apple subscription services to pay for your account I paid for a year. I was able to use it for approximately two months and then it just got shut down. I reached out to Customer Service for help to no avail. They were nothing short of indignant, rude and condescending and would do nothing for me. I had to go back to Apple to file a complaint to get my money back. That’s my first big complaint about. And that’s a big one because being in a Customer Service industry I am just baffled by the how they treat their customers. In fact they all need to go back to school and learn how to treat customers.
2. I found the course itself to be particularly good. Especially Those with Anders was quite excellent, which makes this whole thing a little disheartening because I was really enjoying the course until I got cut off and now I can’t decide whether to go back and give them my money again.
Had it not been the crappy customer service and the amount of time it took me to get my money back I may have given this a five. Buyer Beware that’s all I have to say choose wisely before you spend your money..

"Awful Customer Service"
GuitarTricks made a mistake in my order - I wanted only a month of lessons but was signed up for 1 year - and the customer service agent treated me with such condescension, at one point laughing at my concern that I would be charged for a year rather than a month. The emails sent to me before I broke down and called were AI-written, actually referencing someone else's account.

"Turned 50 and wanted to learn "
I turned 50 and have always wanted to learn but honestly thought I may be past learning. I decided to commit and try. Guitar Tricks has been amazing. I am going from the very start and my progress is well beyond where I thought I'd be. I only wish the notation was available a bit bigger to see easier when I start playing along. I am loving it.
