"Great options for guitar lessons."

I really enjoy the many options for lessons on Guitar Tricks. Songs, techniques, instructors. Being able to manipulate the playback speed on the lessons. Some of the lesson have the auto scrolling option for the lesson music. Would be great if they all did.

"Anders Mouridsen Is Great"

I just wanted to pass along an experience. For my 70th birthday I rewarded myself with a Sterling By Music Man Cutlass CT50 Plus electric guitar and Katana Boss switchable modeling amp. Then I started taking lessons from GuitarTricks and picked Anders Mouridsen as my instructor. Great guy, clear and precise instructions, lots of patience. But then I got in about six months deep and started having problems missing notes and chords while trying to keep up with Anders. After awhile I thought of trying the same lessons on an acoustic and purchased a Yamaha FS830 Small Body. Bam! Instantly playing became much easier, including the lessons I was having problems with. And for some strange reason A major has always sounded "sour" on the electric but perfectly sweet on the acoustic. At any rate, as to the long standing debate on whether it's better to begin learning guitar on an electric or acoustic, my vote is defintely acoustic. The lessons are fun again and I'm practicing 2-3 times daily. The CT-50 Plus will stay in the rack until I feel I'm a more accomplished player. Thanks for everything.

" Old dog, new tricks"

I played in my younger days and put it down when life got busy.
Here I am learning again at 55!!!
I remembered most of the open chords but after 30 years, finger placement and timing, well, lol!
The detail on basic detail is amazingly done by the instructor team and you can take this all at your own pace.
Really enjoying this two weeks in and look forward to the journey.

I am totally a newbie beginner on guitar. Knew absolutely zero! Strummed a guitar a few times in my early teens…I’m 69 years young and wanted to play for quite awhile. Bought a guitar and thought I’d learn from “beginner” books and pick up a few tips from a friend who plays. Books..👎. Tried Guitar Tricks…I love it! This is better than my friend or paying for a private instructor! I can go back to previous lessons to review! I can stop and replay if I missed something! My learning curve has advanced since starting GT that I think within the next 4-5 months, I’ll be playing some simple stuff (for me, anyway🤣) and might even be pickin’ some blues!👍

"Late life start."

I played trumpet through school, so have some musical background. I also tried to play guitar while in the Navy, nearly 50 year ago, without success. Late last year, I decided to give it another go. Tried many You-tube and other media, including books. I really need something more structured than what any youtube instruction provides. I happened upon an ad for GuitarTricks.com and tried it. It appeared to be exactly what I needed. I am now into chapter two and am loving it. I practice, participate in the lessons and practice some more....love it. I am very impatient but this keeps me focused on the topic at hand. I have no illusions of being great but I think this and my mediocre talent will allow me to play music with others and that is my goal.
