"Long time hearing aid user"

I've been wearing hearing aids for 32 years. I've had all styles. From behind the ear to the most recent you can barely see. My newer ones are so comfortable I have a sign by the bath towels to remind me to take them out before getting in the shower.LOL. I would not be able to function without my hearing aids. Any one thinking about them should at least do a trial with them. You will be glad you did.

Born deaf in one ear and Sensorial hearing loss began in the other several years ago. A Starkey hearing aid is truly a life saver for me. The past 6 years I have been unable to conduct my own business over the phone. This morning I was able to have a two hour conversation over the phone without referring to the text screen at all!

I have a pair of the halo Bluetooth hearing aids. If I have to wear hearing aids, these are the way to go. LOVE the Bluetooth technology! Phone calls, podcasts with NO wires!!!

They help overcome the problem, but cannot fix what has been broken over time. It is not the amplification but the clarification that is important. Being mostly monolinguistic and living in a bilingual world is a problem. English, I can interpret quite well giving lipreading that you learn automatically and familiarity with the language. Spanish is not a language of the lips, but the tongue which is not there for you to see and interpret. Further, the words are not as familiar which hurts understanding.

Clearly, these are the best hearing aids that I have had, and wish they had been my first.

Now wearing 3rd set (in 10 years) of Starkey hearing aids which I have received from the VA due a service connected hearing loss. Each new model is better and better. Easy to wear and use and adjust. Current pair has bluetooth connectivity which is great, paired to a SureLink device the VA also provided so I can hear TV sound anywhere in my house with TV sound turned off. I am looking to a new model which won't need batteries.
