"Worst"

Despite my vet sending 4 email claim forms on my behalf between April 2022 and July 2022 my claim form was apparently not received until 6 July 2022.
11 weeks later I have still not received the insurance money despite several calls and emails. On todays call, I was advised that there is no timescale as to when my claim is likely to even be assessed as they are short staffed. I have to wait up to 5 more days to even be contacted about a complaint.
I will definitely not be renewing with Insure Your Paws and advise you to look elsewhere if you want to be paid out.

"Do not use this company!"

Do not use this company!! My claim has been on going since 05/07/22 and remains ongoing at the present date. Our vets tried contacting them multipul times with no response. Our vets then contacted us to pay the vet bill as they were unable to put anymore admin time into our insurers. We are still awaiting for the claim to go through there customer service it terrible. I have now gone to another company with good ratings, as I was not willing to renew my insurance for another year. AVOID

"Policy Number IYPU0011CT/202136/1 …"

Policy Number IYPU0011CT/202136/1 Claim number 57116654

My cat is 12years old and has only ever been to the vets twice in her life, once to be spayed and the most recent visit that I’m claiming for through IYP. Documentation forwarded to my current vets in JUNE. First communication from IYP 3/8/22, who have “requested more information” from the first vets (spaying vets?! Why? That was 8-10years ago and nothing to do with the current claim). We are now almost at the end of September and I am still receiving texts and emails informing me that they are ‘working on my claim’ and ‘experiencing high levels of claims currently’. This is absolutely ridiculous. They are requesting information from my vets that has already been provided, and then said that they don’t check emails to see if said info has been returned to them…. Idi0ts.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME.
I am frustrated beyond belief with this company. It appears they will go to any length to delay or refuse pay out.

"The difference between expectations and reality"

I moved to Insure Your Paws from a more expensive well known provider and was impressed with the website, service promise, extent of cover and the ease of setup. However when I needed to make a claim for unforeseen treatment for skin issues, the insurers took nearly 4 months to even look at it although all documentation was properly completed by my vet. They then implied that I had invalidated the insurance cover by failing to declare my dogs ‘aggressive tendencies’ and questioned whether there were any third party claims against him which was completely untrue. I was astonished and quite upset and found through consulting my vet again a note on the medical record I supplied, about discussions relating to boisterous teenage puppy behaviour prior to my dog being castrated. This predated the claim and the insurance by over two years and had been taken completely out of context. The insurers grudgingly accepted further written confirmation from my vet that my dog has a sweet temperament and that there have been no aggressive behaviour incidents or third party claims. The insurers then split the claim which was for treatment that crossed over into two continuous insurance periods into two claims so that they could deduct the No Claims bonus twice. I am now left with the sense that they did everything possible to avoid paying out for a perfectly legitimate claim, including implying, without evidence and in an accusatory tone, that my dog had behavioural problems when this was, in any case, irrelevant. I do not feel their stance is in keeping with either the letter of the insurance policy or the spirit of it. It was sold as a helpful, supportive service to help cushion an owner against unforeseen and unbudgeted cost, but my experience has been negative and I have not felt trusted or valued as a customer.

"14 weeks and counting........"

14 weeks and counting........
Prioritised at 12 weeks for urgent assesment after several phone calls and time wasted sat on hold.
Now apparently it needs another senior assessor to look at it so ring back in another 2 weeks!!!!
So that will be 16 weeks at best.....
A simple unjury and 1st time I've ever claimed.

"Long wait for money"

Insure your paws took a long time to pay out the money when my dog had to see a specialist. They say it will take no longer than 8 weeks but it took 12 weeks before I received any money.

"Takes ages to get through on the phone…"

Takes ages to get through on the phone and unfortunately I need to claim on a monthly basis because of a poorly dog continuing forms take 8-10 weeks to pay so sometimes I could have 3 payments outstanding that’s why most vets won’t deal with you directly
