I've always had a great experience with both the website and the people running it.
Even when I had to do some changes to my collection slot JP's customer service have always been able to accommodate my request. Today I had to change my collection date and the time and after 4 min call with Jenna it's all sorted.
The only "downside" is the 25% buyer's premium, 20% VAT on buyer's premium and 20% VAT on thr hammer price...so if you are not careful might end up paying more than one the item is sold at in the retails...

It seems to me that since John Pye has implemented their most recent software, customer needs are no served as well as my previous experiences. For example its not easy to search for an item such as a radiator. Clearly it matters to so many people as this type of item is much more likely to be picked up locally, therefore listing (showing) one thats 100 miles away is ridiculous. Rob

John Pye is a big company however whilst it does at times seems inflexible for the most part it’s staff in my experience can only be defined as fair empathetic and very hard working. In my recent experience the members of staff went out there way to resolve the problems. A special thanks should go out to both Frankie a manager and Robert assistant from the Nottingham office. They really are a credit to the name of John Pye.

OK I was not expecting anything new but what use are goods if they are not working?

"Overcharging delivery with DPD"
We have been charged £60 for dpd delivery and received 2 10kg boxes which would be a max of £30 dpd. Probably £24. So John Pye have made money out of charging us. I know this as I use dpd for my business. Be very careful of delivery charges. They also incorrectly quoted one on a parcel in the first place which I had to rectify. This was the Chesterfield branch.

"SCAM"
2 out of 3 items in my lot do not work. Candy floss machine had 2 parts missing, candy grab machine just will not work. Will not give a refund , I can't afford to lose this money. Pictures show the items looked new. Scam scam scam !

I have used John Pye Auctions a lot and up until my most recent experience they have been great.
Beware they do sell broken items and do not specify in the description if they are broken and rely on the pictures or viewing in person. Which is ridiculous for an online auction site.
Customer service just copies and pastes a big Spiel about there T’s and C’s. And not really very helpful unfortunately.
Would be 1 Star if I hadn’t had success with my previous purchased items.
Really has made me question why I use this auction site.

"Selling items as new that are faulty /…"
Selling items as new that are faulty / dont work. I bought a brand new electrical item that retail for about £280. I paid an awful lot of money for this . It is brand new but is faulty and simply doesnt work. There is no guarantee because John Pye are not authorised sellers of this item. There is simply no repair possible by the company who make them and therefore my purchase is worthless. John Pye refused to do anything and simply said I should have gone to try it first. It wasnt charged and even if it did work I would not have e been able to try it. To have actually gone and visited would have meant a 500 mile trip and taken a very long day. John Pye have effectively unlawfully in many eyes taken my money and refused to compensate me or accept it back. Its a shame companies like this cannot simply act honestly and with some ethics
I note the reply John Pye have put forward which is completely anticipated given the robotic unhelpful response which you get from everyone at the company. A little decent customer services gesture would have been greatly appreciated rather than angering your very own customers into writing several reviews about your company of low standards. The fact you have not asked for my details or details of the order are testament to your view that you are not interested in your customers, only in taking their money in very dodgy circumstances.

Excellent customer service, I strongly advise to read the terms and conditions and if you are only buying online and not able to view ONLY BUY from a NO VIEWING auction as then you are covered by a 14 day returns policy. You do have to pay for the return though but If the goods are damaged or they have sent you an incorrect item, you will still need to cover the cost of return in order that they can check the validity of the claim. If valid they will also refund the cost of return - up to the value of the original delivery cost. Thank you to Dorian for clarifying all this on our web chat. Very helpful and knowledgeable!
