"I purchased items from the UK- I have a…"
I purchased items from the UK- I have a full understanding that when I ordered I would be subject to pay both duties and taxes, no different than if I was to cross an international border and cross over into Canada. I work full time, the duties and taxes were calculated properly, I did not get any charges from the broker, and there was a small administrative fee from Ezclear. Well worth every penny not having to drive with the price of gas to the nearest Customs office.
Very happy with the service, very happy with how efficient the process went and very happy with my purchase.

"Ridiculous prices"
Ridiculous prices. Save money and go to the CBSA yourself.

"Charge waaaay too much"
EZ Clear like to charge me pretty much the same amount as my package's worth... I ordered a pair of boots for $40, and they tried to charge me $30 on top of that?? No thank you.
Last time they did this I self cleared and the post office didn't charge me ANYTHING.
Clear it yourself ladies and gentlemen...

"Exception customer service"
Exceptional customer service. Maricel is truly one of a kind. Ive interacted with her on numerous occasions and she always goes above and beyond in explaining where or what is going on with your package. If there are any delays or issues, it is usually because of customs delays and other factors that don't have anything to do with Ezclear. Plus, you can pay off your duties with PayPal which is always a plus!

"Great customer service"
Today I called EzzClear pertaining to two orders I had made. I called but got no answer, within a short while I received a phone call from a customer rep named Maricel. She explained in full detail what was going with my packages and what I needed to do to have the items cleared. She was great! I really appreciated how she took her time to explain everything for me!

"DONT TRY AND SELF CLEAR, PAY THROUGH EZCLEAR"
After reading the reviews online, I was actually quite hesitant to proceed with paying charges and decided to try self-clearing. I went to CBSA and had the worst experience ever, they didn’t read the documents properly, they didn’t let me pay my taxes, I had to wait a really long time to get it and ended up not being able to pay my duties. I called Ezclear and they were actually really helpful and explained the process and proceeded to pay with them. Self-clearing is a long and tedious process and wastes so much time and effor and i’m sure for everyone it’s much easier to pay through and worth every penny of the admin charges because they seriously save you a lot of time and effort.

"DO NOT USE Ez Clear to pay Import charges - self clear with CBSA"
First experience with Ez Clear. My product cost was $156.91 and my import charges were $51.80. After reading other reviews on Ez Clear, I decided to self clear my parcel. Took 15 days to get the necessary paperwork from Ez Clear. When I took the paperwork to my nearest Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), I only had to pay the 5% GST which ended up being $7.85. I questioned why the huge difference and was told by Ez Clear "The difference is you are not paying for the bonded services of FB Canada Express, brokerage fee of William Rutherford. The disbursement fee of using the paypal online service." Seems like a pretty expensive service FB Canada Express is offering. I would recommend to others to self clear if you have a CBSA close by.

"Unnecessary Fees."
I ordered some bike parts from chain reactions in the UK and I was charged 13.65% HST (HST should be 13%) plus a $15 administration fee. And a disbursement fee of $1.89. They are just taking advantage of consumers. I had to call and refuse the delivery of the package... The customer service rep was polite and cancelled it right away (It seems like she was used to cancelling the delivery orders).

"Coming from someone that shops online…"
Coming from someone that shops online CONSTANTLY as it is part of my job:
I have no time to self-clear. I have done it in the past but if I had to self-clear for every order I made I would have to quit my job and just run back and forth to customs.
It takes time to print off the paperwork and then drive to CBSA, pay for parking, wait in line…sometimes the agents ask questions about the parcel that I can’t answer. My time is worth more than the $10 I might save and there were a couple of times when I actually paid more in duties and taxes that what I would have paid with the courier company.
If you have time go for it but I have better things to do with my time.
