"Chair is great"

Chair is great, I would never know that it's not new.
Putting it together was harder than expected, as things didn't go as easy as what was shown on the instructions.

"Great chair and fast shipping"

I bought from BTOD after researching ergonomic chairs. I decided on the Steelcase Amia mostly for its seat, since I like to sit cross-legged sometimes. BTOD offered the product at a great value, the website experience was easy, and the shipping was very fast. I received an email from my "personal customer service representative" (shout out to April) and while I did not end up needing the information in the email, it was pleasant and appreciated. Putting the chair together was easy and well guided and I am very pleased.

"Not Perfect, But Good Enough"

My chair wouldn't hold height upon arrival. I spent several hours trouble shooting and learned it's the cylinder.

I emailed them saying I followed their online videos and the chair still doesn't work. They made me go through it again. Not sure if they read my email fully or it's just protocol.

Chair works perfect with the replacement cylinder

All good now, but docked a star leaving me with a disassembled chair in my room for a week.

"Customer Service / QA Could improve"

Terrible customer service, buy from somewhere else. The chair is good with ofc some minor imperfections. But that's if you get a working chair.

Got my first chair which was extremely squeaky when leaning back after going back and forth with support I had to go out and buy a DW-40 and a Long screwdriver, this didn't fix the issue, then went back and forth and they offered to send a replacement.

Waited for the replacement for the instructions and parts to be different, and sent me the wrong information, and have to wait longer for support.

Then to ship the old one back they require you to then buy a rubber mallet, and an 8inch pipe wrench (I live in an apartment I don't have these things) and even suggested that I just call my maintenance worker from my apartment complex to let me borrow these items? Like really? This is the support? spend more money just to get a broken replacement on a 100% guarantee that they have listed on their website

Clearly a faulty claim on there website.

UPDATE:

Had to ask for a supervisor for any actual progress on getting the reimbursement, Jackie was helpful and provided me with answers and a faster solution. However, I am now happy with the chair I got and don't have any issues with it yet. This should have never happened in the first place.

"Regret"


I want to start by saying that saving money was never my main goal—I was looking for the best of both worlds: the adjustability of the Leap chair, combined with the comfort from the Amia. Unfortunately, what I received fell short in too many ways.

I purchased a refurbished Lamia chair for over $800, hoping it would live up to its reputation. Instead, I received a chair with mismatched black colors that made it look pieced together. The backrest's fabric was extremely flimsy and noticeably thin—so much so that I had serious doubts it would last more than a year or two. To make matters worse, the backrest cushion felt virtually non-existent, offering none of the support or comfort I expected at this price point.

There were also functional issues. The grooves in the lumbar support showed signs of wear and tear, which occasionally caused the adjustable lumbar feature to get stuck. This made the chair even less practical for everyday use

Although the company advertises a "hassle-free full refund," that wasn’t the case for me. The only option required me to stay home and wait for a pickup, which would have cost me money in lost time.

In the end, I donated the chair rather than keep dealing with the return logistics. There was no reimbursement for the poor quality, and the 12-year warranty that will never be used. I wanted something reliable and comfortable, and what I received felt more like a patchwork gamble. I would strongly caution future buyers to manage expectations and be aware that “refurbished” can sometimes just mean “compromised.” Do yourself a favor and just buy brand new.

This is my third desk purchase. Customer service is excellent! A couple years back after one desk was already 5 years old, had to have electronics replaced. A replacement was shipped out overnight at no cost! You don't find that kind of service now a days...
