"The jury is still out"

I am updating the review I'd written below to say that I had satisfaction from The Poles Company in the end, but it took a lot of pushing on my part. The pole arrived much later than I had been led to anticipate at the point of ordering. It eventually arrived 20 days after I placed the initial order. I think the products sold by the company are good quality and I gather that they are currently working on improving their customer service.
It was impossible to get through to the company on the telephone number they provided on their website. It was only by ringing parent company, Bradbury Tracks and emailing a complaint that I eventually got a return call from Josh who was very apologetic. When he took charge of my order he did then get it delivered to me by fast track. I had in the meantime found out the name of the specialist manufacturing company who made the particular pole I'd ordered. (Cameron Fuller supply individual orders of some specialist poles to The Poles Co.) The person there who I gave the Poles Co. order number to, looked it up on their system and said they had no record yet of having received it. My my impression was that The Poles Co. had overlooked putting it through to them and that it was only when I then reported this oversight back to Josh that he then got the order fast tracked.
My main bugbear was the lack of communication about the hold ups and failure to give any specific delivery date.

The jury is still out on The Poles Company. I ordered a curtain Pole (£92 plus postage) Order No.#100009605 on 10th Nov and received immediate email confirmation stating that a second email would be sent confirming dispatch. I'd assumed from the website information that UK dispatch took place within a day or so. After 10 days I tried ringing the Poles Co at different times of day and got no answer. Tried again today and again no answer. I then read Trust Pilot reviews and saw the helpful comment posted by Duncan Lewis on 16 July 2021 about the parent company being Bradbury Tracks (01494 459571). I rang and got through to Keith who took my name, order number, asked me to wait on hold and came back quickly to say that he had checked with the Poles Co. and my order "would be with me by next Monday" which will be 29th November. (17 days after placing the order) If that turns out to be the case I will be relieved and will report back here. In the meantime my experience is that present customer service from the Poles Co itself in terms of communication about orders is not good. I see that a number of satisfied customer reviews have commented on the high quality of the products but service is an important aspect of buying. As a first time customer it certainly saps confidence when money is paid upfront and then it is not possible to get hold of anyone. Perhaps the moral is to do more background check on a supplier before placing an order.

"Very strong and well made curtain pole"

Bought a black metal curtain pole. The quality was really excellent. A really sold and well made pole, fixings and rings. Very pleased

"Outstanding service."

I am very happy to give an outstanding review for Josh at The Poles Company.
We had an issue with a curtain pole bracket which, due to a manufacturing error needed replacing. I emailed Josh and received a new bracket THE NEXT DAY. The service we received was amazing. We would thoroughly recommend using this company.

"My order still hasn’t arrived…"

I’m currently having a terrible experience with them. My delivery date just lapses and each time they say the courier can’t find my address. It is not hard to find and no other delivery companies have any issues, so I’m not convinced I am being told the truth… I can’t get hold of anyone as the phone just keeps ringing, to the point i am questioning whether this company is actually legitimate?

"We hit several bumps in the road with…"

We hit several bumps in the road with our initial order. Luckily I got hold of Josh at Bradbury Tracks who seem to be the parent company. Following his intervention we had the damaged product replaced (damaged in transit) and replaced with a superior Jones pole. This was all sorted out in a matter of days. Josh recognises the value of good customer service and attentive communication. More like Josh please!

I’ve ordered from the Poles Company twice now and on both occasions I’ve experienced excellent customer service. Poles arrived exactly when they said and are of excellent quality. Wouldn’t hesitate in recommending.

"Pole not arrived"

I have had a curtain pole on order since 12 December 2020, to date, 30 December-nothing. Impossible to get to speak to anybody on the phone, they are no longer dealing with customers on the phone and concentrating on getting orders out. I have dealt with Michael via email (only way to contact the company) but no reply to my latest email about where my curtain pole is. I don’t mind people having a Xmas shutdown, but if your online presence indicates people can spend money with you, people really are thinking you are open for business, this is not the case. I am sure that the Poles Company are led by their supplier, but this is retail, people shop 24/7, it’s not a specially made 3 piece suit, it’s a curtain pole? Wish I’d shopped locally and not on a very very long online remote retailer (or not online). Sick of not sleeping with no curtains up. Order No #100006019
UPDATE 8 JAN. once curtain pole received by Poles Company from the supplier on 7 Jan it was promptly delivered to me the following day.

"Great customer service"

The curtain pole I ordered arrived on time and was fab but due to an issue with the courier I didn't receive the additional curtain rings I had ordered. This is when your heart sinks and you think I'm going to have to fight to get this sorted. The Pole Company were great and tried to get it fixed as quickly as possible. As soon as it became clear the Courier was not going to resolve the issue they immediately sent replacement. Great company to deal with will definitely use again
