"shocking customer service dept"

Very friendly when they are selling to you and taking your money but the worst customer services experience I've ever encountered.
I've spent thousands with them over the years and will never purchase anything from them again

Update 1
They stated their dedicated customer service team are helping me - what a joke they’re the cause of the problem and they should check every order , I updated my details on my account with them- not heard anything from their customer service team in days - they told me to inform the police , very helpful

"Another horrible, symptomatic example of ‘Broken Britain’"

If ever there was a real-life scenario representing ‘Broken Britain’, then this is it.

It stars two ‘A-list’ actors: Peter Tyson of Carlisle, and DPD, one of the UK’s worst delivery services (source: CAB 16.11.2023).

Ordering an item last week from Peter Tyson, delivery was booked with DPD (not my choice) for between 14h03 and 15h03 on Friday 11 April 2025.

Refreshing my iPhone app the DPD driver was getting ever closer. I was “delivery number 43”. Watching the application count down the number of stops it quickly neared me. The two screenshots that I made (at 14h30 and 14h31) shows that I was, on the first image: “delivery number 37” and that DPD was “approximately 15 minutes away”.

However, just one minute later, the driver had seemingly decided that he’d had enough for the day (well, it was a Friday afternoon, after all) and buzzed off, sending me the message (and I quote): “Sorry, we missed you. Your driver Alin Crciun won’t be back today but we’ll be back Mon 14 April with your parcel.”

It was all so matter-of-fact… DPD just ‘presumed’ that I’d play ball and patiently wait in yet another day to accept their delivery.

I’ve already given DPD a bad review and told Peter Tyson accordingly. I was going to give Tyson a two-star review, but bearing in mind that a Tim Illingworth had already given two-stars to Peter Tyson for EXACTLY the same DPD fiasco on the same day, I decided to give them a one-star review, bearing in mind that they had already promised me that they would refund me on Monday 14 April. And they haven’t.

Well, that’s not exactly true as they have been holding me ransom saying, in their e-mail of Friday 11 April that: “We have now requested DPD to return the parcel back to us and will process a full refund to the original payment once we receive it back (expected Monday).”

Whoever sent that e-mail to me (no name given) expected fully that I would just sit tight and wait it out, even though my £112.50 has been out of bounds to me since making the order on 9 April.

Overall, I’m extremely disappointed with Peter Tyson. As I said, I’m normally quite contented with them as far as service is concerned. However, on this occasion they have more than let me down, a) by still continuing to use worse-than-useless DPD to represent them and deliver their parcels, and b) to hold me to ransom, depriving me of MY money for a situation totally out of my control.

Added to all this palaver I had to rush into town on Saturday 12 April to buy another gift to replace the item from Peter Tyson which was supposed to have been for a birthday. And on top of all this I have wasted SO much time writing e-mails, waiting at home, being sorely disappointed & angry, writing these silly reviews and STILL kept waiting to be reimbursed.

Looking at my past orders with Peter Tyson since 2019, these amount to £5629.50.

What a farce! Broken Britain at its keenest… but beware… the malaise is contagious.

(PS: I’ve waited as long as I possibly can before posting this TRUSTPILOT review, just in case Peter Tyson sent me a just-before-midnight refund. And no, they haven’t… I’ve just checked my REVOLUT account)

UPDATE:
What Peter Tyson has sent to me via e-mail is a screenshot of an amount of £112.50 saying 'Credit'. It does NOT say to whom this £112.50 was paid and conveniently does not include any date (the screenshot has been cropped, both top and bottom), or where it was sent.

So that's no name, no date, no bank details, no time of day... no nothing, other than a valueless 'Credit £112.50' on their cropped-down-in-size image.

I'm finding out now - depite having logged orders of over £5500 with them - just what type of deceitful company Peter Tyson of Carlisle really is.

UPDATE 2:
Contacting REVOLUT, who have all been very obliging, they are to commence retrieval of my monies which Peter Tyson has still not refunded. In accordance with their policies, REVOLUT has stated to me:
"We previously contacted the merchant on your behalf to try and reach a solution regarding the dispute request you raised for the transaction(s) below. However, we still haven't received any confirmation that they will refund you. Therefore, we will begin to process your case ourselves."
'Section 75' of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 will thus come into operation.
