absolutely horrific software. BLOCK ALL THE WEBSITE. including sports, shopping and news. completly blocks ebay/argos/john lewis and all the other websites as soon as you try to buy anything that has a word gaming in it. for example i could not open a single website to buy a gaming mouse and monitor.

also blocks all the news and sports websites completly and shuts your computer down!

contacted staff and got absolutely no support. this is a horrific software please dont download it as there is NO WAY TO UNINSTALL IT. yes you read that correctly. I contacted staff and was told I can never remove it.

What a mistake

I was in need of gambling blocking software so I've sent GamBlock customer services questions before buying it. I was satisfied with their answers but then the problems started. Yes, it does some gambling blocking (it was completely not useful for my country until I sent them what they need to block), although they guaranteed that it will block 100% of gambling sites, nothing less, nothing more.

It doesn't only block my tab which it suspects is gambling related but whole browser. And it doesn't necessarily have to be connected to gambling in any way. I've been reading about the attach in Las Vegas on some news website - it crashed the browser. I've been reading about some laws in my country - it blocked the page. It blocked a video on facebook that has nothing to do with gambling. It also restarts my computer without any notice (resulting in lost work) and their customer service treats my every email as gambler trying to remove the software even though I gave them access to my computer and they see that it really does cause problems. They haven't resolved any of the issues and they send half-generic emails without replying to what my issues are.

Horrible customer service, really bad software, they don't want to remove it and they don't want to return my payment, I will go to Victoria consumer affairs and file an official complaint.

"Hideous software"

I would give zero stars if I could. Hideous bit of software that I cannot get off my computer. It was recommended to me by my Gamcare counsellor. It did the trick yes, it blocks absolutely everything. Even a newspaper story about some guy getting a speeding ticket because the story mentioned something about gambling with this life so it crashes the whole computer. And now, after a whole year that my licence has supposedly expired, I still cannot get it off my computer and now have had to resort to allowing Gamblock remote access to remove it. Something that I feel very uneasy about. Save your money, have a trusted friend set up parental controls for gambling and not tell you the password. When I first installed Gamblock my computer blocked it and said it contained a Trojan. Customer support has been good but their fixes have not resolved the issue thus far and it is wreaking havoc with my life. I am probably in a minority here, but it does not work for me and this is my opinion only.

"Absolutely pointless piece of software"

If you have a gambling problem and the half hour it would take you to uninstall this software from your computer will put you off gambling then this is for you. If, however, you would make the effort of the half hour required to completely remove this software without requiring any password apart from your usual admin PC password then this software is not for you. Absolute rubbish.
