Smokeless ovals budget price. Low heat, maximum ash even on full draught, awful, never again, used to be a reputable supplier, not anymore.

"We ordered our usual coal from you"

We ordered our usual coal from you. We always have the more expensive as it is low in smoke and very little ash.
This time the coal was appalling, we did contact you and a lady phoned my husband from the manufacturer stating that it was the products that were used at the manufacturers that were the problem.
That did not help us at all, we cannot believe that we had so much mess to clear up not once or twice a day but every time we refilled. It also smelled horrible. We won't be using it again and are looking around now to go somewhere else to get our fuel. We are very saddened regarding this as we have had no complaints with you and have been using you from the time we had our burner installed. We feel that we paid for the upgraded bags of fuel and the last ones were worse than the red bags we started with at the beginning. We have never been in such a mess with anything we have had from you before and we know that you do not manufacture it just sell it. Please could you advise as to any other manufacturers you deal with. We have looked ourselves and found a few but you being in the industry so to speak may have a better view of which is the best. "Stacked the bags nice & neatly on my drive"

I have used housefuel.co.uk for a number of years and after shopping around they are always the cheapest online.
They used to delivery on a pallet by HGV but the last 2 deliveries have been on their own vehicles in individual bags.
I wasn't in when the delivery took place, so they stacked the bags nice & neatly on my drive still leaving me with enough room to get my car back on when I returned. This was 40 bags @ 25kgs each!.
Definitely use them again.

Sadly the quality of products, especially the excessive amount of ash and correlating diminishing heat output, has radically altered very detrimentally.
This has adversley impacted how I would always have rated this company and its products.

Bought pallet full 40 bags . Ad says less ash more heat less smell . What a load of lies worse coal ever bought . So much ash, fire doesn’t give off half the heat used to so stuck with this poor quality coal.

No problem with the heat output but the ash left from the binder used to form the ovals is much more than the advertising suggests. A completely full ash tray after burning three quarters of a coal scuttle of smokeless ovals. On the positive side the ovals slumber very well overnight.

Be careful buying a full pallet or 1/2 pallet from this type of advert because i was caught out the whole 40 bags where complete RUBBISH soaking wet each bag full of wet dust and small broken rubbish didnt burn well at all and smell not very nice contacted seller regarding first lot of bags going into my bunker but the rest of the load was just as bad beware you have been warned

"Smokeless Ovals - dismal heat & tonnes of ash!"

Been running Housefuel Smokeless Ovals in an Aga Little Wenlock for about two months. Got through about 300kg and it is awful! Maybe it doesnt suit my stove because the heat output is dismal and the ash volume almost equals the coal volume! In mid winter, the stove is running from 8am 'til bedtime and burning hardwood, I empty the ash pan every other day. Burning Glolite Ovals, ash pan is full and emptied once a day. Burning Housfuel Smokeless ovals, the ash pan is overflowing twice a day. And the heat output is so poor, I find myself having burning this stuff with a hardwood log. By comparison, it wasn't that cheap ether. Still got more than half a tonne of this stuff to get rid of - it's an absolute chore to use!

"Poor quality, small broken pieces and mountains of dust - won't order again"

Agree with other reviewers, the smokeless ovoids are extremely poor quality, small pieces and full of ash, didn't burn hot, slow to light, and very messy. I didn't look at these reviews before ordering, and only came on here after the company's handling of my complaint about the coal quality, but it is telling that there is a pattern emerging of either people being really delighted, or like me, extremely dissatisfied. Company have offered a partial refund, which has never been received, and they have now said to take it up with my bank.

The delivery experience was something else!! I won't even go there as it probably wouldn't in of itself deterred me from ordering again, but suffice to say there was nothing professional about it.
