"One Fine Stay in NYC"

I stayed with a friend at the Chelsea Gardens and Village Place properties in New York City and had an amazing time. The properties had great locations, were spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The kitchens had all the appliances and utensils we needed and had all the comforts of home and made me feel like a local living in NYC. Both were spacious and great places to relax in after a busy day in NYC. Collecting and returning keys was an easy process and the welcome package was a nice added bonus. I really enjoyed staying in the apartments instead of having just a hotel room. I would definitely use One Fine Stay again.

"Great experience"

Great experience! Booking was easy and the team was extremely helpful. It was a first "rental" experience for my parents and they loved the fact that we felt at home during our week in NY. We were welcomed by a very nice Young lady and the fact that she gave us an IPhone for our stay was extremely helpful to do our daily visits. The place was very well decorated, clean. Would love to use OFS again in the future.

"what a dump!!"

We are staying in the Campden V flat in Kensington. We arrived today and the greeter, Frederica was warm, helpful, informative and lovely. And that’s the only good thing I can say about this experience.
This flat is a dump. The upholstery on the sofas is filthy, the cushions have long since lost any fluff they might ever have had. The carpets are threadbare and dirty. The walls dingy and scarred and stained. The finish of the wood floors is worn through and where there are tile floors, the tiles are cracked and filthy.
Because of building codes in London (so we are told) you can’t plug in a hairdryer in any bathroom. But there are no
Mirrors anywhere else in The house. There are hangers in the closets, but the closet bars are ata minimum over 2 meters from the floor. Maybe more like 8 feet.
There is some food in the cupboard. An empty bottle of olive oil, sticky from previous use. Shelves, handles of appliances, drawers are sticky and just nasty.
I cannot believe what this company has rented me for an ASTRONOMICAL price.
And you can’t get your money back. Basically this company operates on a SCREW YOU SUCKER policy.
I wish there were somewhere to go to get out of this situation, but they have my money, and I’m stuck.

"Owner feedback"

One fine stay managed my property in France for two years . Although generally the employees were nice their level of support for a property owner was not what I expected especially regarding the thoroughness of the cleaning after guests had left . For example we just visited our house and found a used diaper stuffed in a cupboard , the last guests were here months ago . I finally terminated our relationship after we had apparently difficult renters who complained about some trivial items (like it being mildly cold in the south of France in December .. surprise surprise ) and so onefinestay gave them a reduced rate and made us pay half of it .

"Terrible customer service"

Terrible customer service. We arrived at our rental and no one was there to let us in. We spent well over an hour standing outside waiting for a representative. To add insult to injury, every time we called we were given a different story as to why no one was available, many of them complete fabrications.

"I was very disappointed this weekend…"

I was very disappointed this weekend just gone by our stay in Soho.
I had pushed my budget to it's limit to treat my husband, our first trip away without our baby. I specifically chose a place with a fire and a central location.
Our greet told us the fire was rea, I enquired as to where the fuel was and he told us to to go to Tesco. It transpired to have been gas - we were extremely lucky to have avoided a very dangerous situation.
Also very disappointed to be told the gas fire was broken and needed new parts so we never had a chance to snuggle up in front of it as envisioned.
There were many, many minor things, bulbs gone, dimmers not working, sticky door and an annoying amount of a short trip spent toing and froing with the company.
In the end we were offered 15% discount or one extra night - we stayed on as it was lovely to be away but I did feel robbed of the premium I had paid. It certainly didn't feel enough for the negative communications and the representations that simply weren't true.
I am a long term host myself and know every well what it takes to keep guests happy, invest in a place and not just take money.

"III Pacific Street, Brooklyn. Unmitigated disaster."

Rented "Pacific Street III" property in Brooklyn over Christmas.
We flew our entire family out from UK for a special occasion. Arrived to discover demolition work was being done in the apartment above. This was not 'mild construction work' as they have now amended to listing to say.. it was extensive drilling and banging that started at 8 am and went all day. They had a team of around 10 staff working upstairs and each day the apartment was filled with a serious amount of construction dust. OFS refunded us two nights stay but the holiday was ruined. It was no secret the work was going on- the permits were up and the two floors above boarded up. Disappointing that the owner was driven by greed to get the money over the Christmas period when they knew this was going on and that One Fine Stay clearly do not keep an eye on their properties. Will never book through them again.

"First the Runaround, then the Legal Evasions"

I used Onefinestay to book a townhouse in Manhattan for a month. The townhouse had very high and steep stairways and was not suitable for older persons, which was all of us. One bedroom was on the fourth floor and accessible only by a narrow spiral stairway.

When we asked for alternate accommodations the New York office just gave us the runaround. First they showed us some lesser-quality apartments. The good apartments on their site were “not available”. Finally we proposed a combination of the lower-quality units and were amazed to be told that there was no refund for the townhouse we originally booked.

Because we judged the townhouse dangerous, we moved anyway, to a hotel unrelated to Onefinestay.

When we later tried to ask for a refund, a snooty lawyer in London told us we couldn’t claim against the townhouse owner in New York, and further stated that we had essentially waived all our rights by “agreeing to their terms” even though these terms had never been provided to us. When we furnished a copy of a report by a building inspector we had hired to evaluate the townhouse (which confirmed the townhouse would not pass government inspection today, though it may have passed when built a century ago), the lawyer told us we had violated the contract by having the place inspected, and invited us to sue them in London. We never got any of our money back.

Though supposedly owned by a hotel group, this company is evidently very hard up for money. The service phone they left in the townhouse did not work because “the bill is past due”. They absolutely did not care about a future customer relationship, and were just bent on clinging to what they’d already pocketed.

By the way, though their listed properties look impressive, when you inquire, the nice ones are “unavailable” and, having been baited, you are then switched to mediocre units.
