Havebike - Collect & Return
Kim Morgan
"Easy to book, fair cost, collected and returned in good time - great!"
Easy to book, collected on-time, fixed quickly and the cost was reasonable (not cheap, but not expensive), returned exactly when it was expected and the whole process was friendly, efficient and professional. Can't ask for more.

"A fantastic service as always"
A fantastic service, very professional and efficient. The drop off and picks were great, with excellent communication on arrival times for both. The breakdown of costs are brilliant too, making it clear and easy to accept the costs to proceed with the order. A brilliant experience once again and I'm always delighted with the outcome.

"Alright but could be better"
Booked through the website for a set pick up and drop off. Initially told the drop off had to be moved followed shortly by being told they couldn’t do the pickup and that they’d rescheduled this without calling me the night before. Ended up having to delay the service for a week. Part compensated for this but did impact upon the feel of the service given.
Collection after this was seemless as was redelivery. Quite a bit flagged wrong with the bike some bits expected but it was quite expensive to have certain parts replaced. Probably will use again but is likely a lot more expensive than the standard local bike shop. Paying that premium for convenience I guess!

"Easy peasey"
This service could not be easier or clearer. After years of having to put up with clique ridden shops delivering shoddy service, Havebike has been a revelation.

"Unbelievably awful"
I posted this on Google reviews 5 months ago but honestly, I'm still upset about it. So, I felt duty bound to copy my review here. I have left photos on Google review.
This was a disaster from start to finish.
I booked my bike in for a service in early April and received it back mid-May. Not a service to use if you need your bike back quickly.
Havebike collected my bike 22 April 2021 and the first issue occurred on 23 April. They needed to replace a part on my bike which unfortunately they did not have in stock. They needed me to order it independently of them and send it to them. I didn't mind so much but it was inconvenient and not really professional.
The part arrived at Havebike on 1 May. When I didn't hear anything from them I emailed them 4 May to find out when they would return my bike. I also called and left messages. It took them 2 days to respond.
They then told me, that having delayed my service by 14 days that it would take another 7 - 10 days to return my bike! And all this for a 2 day service!
I complained about this and Abbie took it up with the Director. He couldn't care less and stuck to the extended timeline. They decided to return my bike on 14 May, nearly a month after collecting it.
However, the bike was not returned until a few days after this as the technician found another fault. This is fair enough but when I got the bike back I discovered that it had been damaged by Havebike! The handlebar tape had been ripped on the right side handlebar which I reported to them 19 May.
So the bike went back to them for them to repair this damage.
When the bike was finally returned I inspected their delivery vehicle. It was not a professional set-up and I can see why my bike was damaged. They do not have purpose built bike racks in the van. It looks like somebody just threw together planks of wood and rope to hold the bikes in place. The driver told me that he has to drive very carefully to avoid damaging the bikes.
I also later found scratches on the crankset.
Honestly, I would be embarrassed to charge for this sort of service. When you book your bike in for a service you don't expect it come back damaged. Adding to that the delays and the inconvenience of having to order my own parts, the experience was frankly depressing.
Havebike treat their customers with contempt in my view and give the impression of a business only run to make money for the owners.
Update 11th February 2022:
The response from Havebike is a clear example of the the contempt that I'm talking about. I described their van exactly as I saw it and they are basically calling me a liar. Or maybe we have different ideas about what professionalism means. Having your bike returned with the handlebar tape ripped off and the crank-set scratched is not what I call professional. How could they not notice this?
If there are any doubts about this I posted pictures on Google reviews.
The claim that they have no record of unresolved complaints is preposterous since I have all the emails. Asking me to contact them in such an impersonal way (via a support page) is indicative of how much they really care about their customers. And they don't even offer an apology. It upsets me so much.
Since then I have taken my bike to Evans. They couldn't be any more different. They bend over backwards to help you and compensate you when there is a delay. This is basic customer service but this concept clearly alludes Havebike.
