we rented boots and skis here. Shoes did not fit properly took 4 days before she finally responded to my messages. The skis were very bad not waxed, we eventually did this ourselves because we got no response. Later they indicated to give a small discount which we have not yet received back. We will never rent anything from this company again. The ease that they come to your chalet is not compared to the inconvenience if something is not right. the communication is really really bad.

"No refund"
Still no refund has been received from Rental Republic, who are claiming that furloughed French staff are the reason for the delay. Well, they were quick off the mark to charge my credit card in the first place. RR's terms and conditions state that "We will only store your card details at the time of booking, in the event you do not take delivery of the equipment you will not be charged." We have been charged and no refund made, despite numerous requests.

"Where's my refund?"
Despite numerous emails, I still have not received my refund for hire for March 2020. It is now end of March 2021. I am unable to raise anyone at the company and hope this will lights fire under there rears.

"Beware of Hiring from Rental Republic"
I think it important to share my experience dealing with this company whose response to the lockdown in France this year was anything but helpful, In order to warn people against using this company in the future. Firstly I have to point out that they company asked for payment for our ski equipment hire ahead of our holiday which is unusual. My first warning.
We were due to travel to St Martin de Belleville on 15/3/20 and our ski hire was booked for that evening. We never left London as France closed all of its ski resorts late on 14/3/20. Because of this all shops and hire outlets in all resorts were forced to shut so obviously our pre paid equipment was not delivered to our chalet. Despite a phone call conversation asking for a refund I was then charged the full amount for the hire (€715) three days later even though no equipment was ever delivered. I realise that times were exceptional but I asked for a refund which was refused and was offered a credit voucher instead. To quote the company “...we were unable to fulfil your order this season due to the closure of the resort”
The company refused point blank to offer a refund for services not provided so I was forced to make a claim on my credit card under section 75.
There are many ski hire companies in the Alpes which have provided refunds for services not provided. This is a warning to future skiers to avoid this company who will take your money before issuing equipment and will then refuse to refund when they fail to deliver.
Their response below does nothing. They didn’t provide the skis yet debited my credit card 3 Days after the resorts were closed. To me this borders on fraud.

Really helpful, coming back to our chalet with different length skis for one of my children (leaving two options to try out). It's really easy to use in the resort without having to wait in line at a ski rental place

"No stress Ski hire"
Arriving on the overnight ski train from St Pancras at 6:30am to get an extra day on the slopes, the last thing you want to do is traipse down from your Chalet to a ski hire shop, so having RR arrive at our chalet five minutes after us was bliss!
Skis and boots sorted in time to enjoy the relatively quiet slopes on change over day!
Highly recommend this service. Also though we never needed it, the follow up emails to ensure all was good and offers to change anything if required is very reassuring!

"Excellent, can’t recommend highly enough"
I don’t usually do reviews, but I make an exception for these guys. Can’t recommend them highly enough. I can’t understand how they can run such a good service for such great prices. We’ve been here for the season and had three separate rentals for us or visiting friends and every time the technicians have been brilliant, really relaxed and helpful.
Can’t imagine ever using an in-resort rental shop again!

"Fabulous service!"
We visited Les Coches on 25 January and Rental Republic couldn’t have been more accommodating. We were able to text to confirm our arrival time for fitting and a couple of the group wouldn’t arrive until the next day (at last minute notice) and rental republic returned in the morning to do the fit for the hire. Would definitely use them again.

"Fantastic service"
Fantastic service - turned up at the chalet when they said they would. Checked back the next day to see if everything was alright and happily switched out some of the kids stuff. Effortless.
