"Healthy pets gained"
Our renewal this year jumped up £300 as our poor dog had a cancerous lump. Not the dogs fault. Healthy pets gained quite alot from this

"Co-insurance? Try elsewhere!! Premium, excess, and adding 'co-insurance'!!"
UPDATE:
15.08.2023: Healthy Pets, thank you for reaching out. You have referenced the change in premium, and the unilateral introduction of co-insurance to keep premiums down. Given the 30%+ increase (WITH) I would hate to imagine how much your revised premium might have been without 😳.
For the record (and I’ve said this direct to you already):
- alternative well known provider giving 33% higher cover
- about 33% cheaper than you
- included foc 24/7 vet health helpline
- no co-insurance
Admittedly, ‘existing conditions’ not covered. Will have to take that risk.
*** Happy to keep further communications ‘offline’ ***
You are now SIGNIFICANTLY more expensive than other well known brands, and they DO NOT have co-insurance. CO-INSURANCE = CHANGE COMPANY! For me, it’s that simple. And I would encourage anyone else having this imposed to consider alternatives before deciding to accept this.
ORIGINAL 12.08.2023 REVIEW:
Premium has gone up over 30% since last year (have made no claims in that year); they have added a 'co-insurance' of 15% to any claim for the next year (which will increase to 20% from the year after); and they have increased the excess from £99 to £125. Not for me! Goodbye Healthy Pets.
I'd used them for several years, renewing on demand each year, but this time .... nope, not having it!
*** Try comparison sites, there are still a number of household name companies offering pet insurance without co-insurance ***
Personally, setting aside the emotional upset of an unwell pet, financially I see pet insurance as 'disaster recovery', I would not claim for the smaller stuff (due to the impact on my next premium renewal), but if/when there is something significant I don't hesitate to claim. If the claim were, say, £4000, they would expect me to shell out £925 (£4000 x 20%, plus £125). In that scenario, what's the point of having insurance? Yes it would save me some money ... but compared to an insurer (with a cheaper premium, but similar excess) I'd still be £800 better off. So why choose Healthy Pets? Exactly ... vote with your keyboard folks, and go elsewhere, I urge you.

"Price went up a lot this year"
Price went up a lot this year, with excess increased and co-insurance introduced. When I queried the rise, the agent suggested cancelling and taking out a new policy. This halved the increase in the premium.
Seems crazy!
