The Co-op

"Avoid Co-op port"
On three occasions now over a period of two months I have bought four or five bottles of Co-op's Ruby Port (Red label - vila nova de GAIA). Out of those 4/5 bottles three have been corked and the taste was disgusting. I returned one to the Brockworth Branch of the Co-op and, after some interogation by the manager, the 80% full 75cl bottle was replaced. Tonight I have just purchased another bottle and again it is corked, (Batch number 3153 -AW CODE WI4225/2/2). Totally unacceptable and avoid until they find a decent supplier.

"Our local Co-op used to be expensive…"
Our local Co-op used to be expensive anyway. Now it is so expensive that nobody can afford to buy its food, so they go into Sainsburys nextdoor.
AS you walk into the Co-Op the smell of rotting food greets you. They have overpriced themselves and now have to keep throwing the food away. Dreadful management

"I will never buy from the Co-op again"
Went to pay at the self service till and wanted to delete an item. No staff around to help and as the store was pretty empty I moved onto the next till. I was planning on returning the item and letting someone know what had happened when a member of staff who was doing her own shopping approached the till I had left with the open transaction. I was about to apologise and explain but didn't get a chance. She began to complain about customers in general with another colleague sitting at a till some yards away. The colleague at the till said she had seen a lady in a dark coat and described some of the items I had in my hands. She repeated this a number of times for my benefit. I felt bullied by the pair of them and felt as if I had committed some serious crime. I still feel awful as I write this.
It's the Manningtree store. I will never buy from the Co-op again.

"Absolutely disgusting"
My son is homeless and struggles with mental health illness he went to the co op locally and as there was a lot of food waste in the bins at the back he decided to take some as he was hungry and struggling. A member of staff saw him and starting shouting abuse at him calling him a low life, scum and that he should die...I am utterly disgusted with the co op for treating my son in such an inhumane way. This sort of attitude just makes homelessness and mental health illness even more stigmatised . I see that the co op are on the good to eat app where they charge people to collect food that's gone off in a surprise bag..and claim its helping to save the planet. Shame on you...donate food to the homeless and needy you can afford to do this with the high prices you charge your customers. I will never step foot inside the co op ever again just vile disgusting.

"Losing business due to too many club card items"
Only bought half the items I went in for as so many things now carry a higher price for non club card holders. I’ll take my business elsewhere and not be forced into getting a club card

"This is what I received this morning…when I ordered online"
This is what I received this morning when I ordered an order online and this was the Bananas that arrived not only well past their sell by date but also packed between the 2 lots of potatoes I ordered.
For a start why were they still for sale on the shelves and why pack in with two heavy other items so very slapdash and really disgusting.

"No delivery"
No delivery - No communication
Placed order, never arrived, I contacted them over an hour after delivery time, on the number under contact us, the young lady was quite sweet, she called the store who told her, they had not picked my order because they had a problem with drivers. My e-mail address and phone number where on the order, they could have called me or emailed to let me know my shopping wouldn't be arriving, instead they just ignored me and left me to do the chasing. I Will NOT be using them again, the store manager needs to insure customers are contacted if there is an issue

"Online shopping"
The co-op in Tulse hill never answer the phone. My online order was to arrive between 6-7pm this was confirmed to me when they sent an email at 5:37 advising that my order had been picked. I have been ringing them constantly since 6 PM with no response till it automatically ceases at their end. I am disgusted with their service because I have not been able to eat this evening.

"I hope they go bust and close down!"
There should be the option for zero stars, as the Co Op well deserves it!
The company is NOT the same respectable company, it was years ago and it now needs to go the Wilko's way, and close down!
It's an awful company to shop in and my local, makes you want to end it all! Long queues and one staff on the tills. Empty shelves for days on end then loads of stock for 24hrs before it's all bought! Anything that's a best seller and sells out quickly, they haven't got the intelligence to order loads of it, so expect empty spaces for days if not weeks! My local now is full of shop lifters and I honestly don't blame them!
