The Co-op

"The Co-op at Wallacewell Road"
The Co-op at Wallacewell Road, Glasgow has large queues on an almost daily basis and only one member of staff on till and despite many people complaining about this nothing has been done about it.
They also run out of stock on a regular basis and I never in my life saw a shop like this that constantly runs out of stock.
Prices there have also driven me to use my local Aldi and Asda and their sky high prices are driving people away with some items being a pure rip off.

"Scam"
I always thought Coop was expensive and used it for emergency stuff. But these guys have surpassed themselves. Half a dozen large-range eggs for 2.10? Orange juice for 4p? Wonder why don’t you have many clients anymore.

"Have been in our local coop 4 times for…"
Have been in our local coop 4 times for the meal deal without success…first it was one item of the five not available then it was another of the items and so on.
The staff refused to give us an alternative even though it was a similar item at the same price!
Their excuse was the till wouldn’t allow the deal and another staff member stated they never receive enough of some of the items. The Coop need to buck their ideas up on these deals as every other item they sell are grossly overpriced in comparison to other supermarkets. Also the sticker items are removed far to early so they can be given to same charity everyday leaving loyal shoppers to pay over the odds.

"Complete waste of time!!!!"
Complete waste of time!!!!
Dear Co-op you need to do much better had a terrible experience and sorry to say using you for home delivery was a complete waste of time and it seems many agree with me.
Thought it was too good to be true I managed to get a delivery slot on the same day. Now I know why, no-one is using you. The slot was for between 4 and 6. 6 o’clock came then 7 then 8 looked on the site and you apparently deliver till 10 so thought you may still be delivering. Anyway nothing but no apology no email saying you couldn’t make it disgusting that you continue to run the delivery service in this way. Worst still was told I had I physically cancel the order and double check that my money would be refunded!!!!! I would like to hear back but don’t t expect a reply, we shall see.

"Brackley Co-op...."
I have been holding off making this review for a long time and after each experience I think I should and today has confirmed this is needed. Whenever I bring in a Evri parcel to drop off and a man called Tommy is behind the counter I dread it. I am always polite and say hello, I have a parcel to drop off please. And EVERYSINGLE time without fail I get a death glare, followed by a huff. I always get a blunt 'put the parcel over there' and 'name'. Never a thank you. However today topped it off. I dropped off a parcel with the usual above behaviour (after he stopped scrolling on his phone). I had a parcel to collect, I said my name and he huffed around till he found it. He then asked me for ID, I was unaware I needed ID as when I collected a few days ago I was not asked. My fault completely, I would have understood if I was refused the parcel. However instead he shouted sarcastically "You always need ID when collecting a parcel". He then threw the parcel across the counter. This man is an UTTER embarrassment to the co-op and makes me dread going into this shop. I am unsure why management put up with this to be honest as I know I am not the only one who had made comments about him in the past.

"Unable to use the app for 3 days to…"
Unable to use the app for 3 days to what seems an internal glitch absolutely shocking with no sense of urgency... simple revert back to before you did whatever update and in future do full checks and compliance before implementing an update

"Their prices are driving customers elsewhere!"
I’ve been a regular customer at my local co-op since 2017 and despite it never being the cheapest place to buy food and groceries I’ve always thought it important to support our local shop. Unfortunately they’ve priced themselves right out of the market now and I literally cannot afford their prices any longer, I can’t help but conclude that they’re just blatantly profiteering.
The last few times I’ve been in there I’ve noticed the store is very quiet these days and quite honestly I never come out with more than half a dozen items now, whereas I used to leave with 3-4 shopping bags full…..the place is now more expensive than some of the luxury/high end food stores out there and if it continues much longer I can’t see them having many customers left soon!

"The Co-op Firmount - Out of Pocket"
The Co-op Firmount, Donoughmore, Co.Cork. My husband and I have been dealing with this co op for 10 years. We have recently spent over €1000 on coal etc this winter alone. We have been told that we don’t have the quantity of product that we bought, short changing us of over €100. They know the system is flawed BUT treated us like criminals and liars. Previous to this complaint there were constant problems with this NEW system which was put in May 2022. I am still waiting on the area manager Dermot Foley (after several calls) to call me. Rob has no customer service and walked away from us without even giving us our documentation which we are entitled to as paying customers. I would not recommend this Co-op to anybody. Bring your business elsewhere.

"The worst grocery shopping experience I…"
The worst grocery shopping experience I have ever had.
Ordered a grocery shop online at 5.30pm. Slot booked between 7-8pm.
Spent around £40. Received confirmation email.
At 8.20pm I still hadn't received anything or heard anything.
I tried to contact someone - but apparently you cant past 8pm - so why have deliveries available at that time? All you could do was send a form which I did.
I still didn't hear anything and nothing arrived.
The next day I rang the Co-op and got put through to about 2 different teams. Eventually I got through to a young man who in essence told me - the order hadn't been picked up by the store. He said if I read the terms and conditions I would see they don't necessarily have to do your order? The most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. He asked if I still wanted it and I absolutely did not. I asked what would have happened if I hadnt rang - he said eventually someone probably would have noticed!! Oh and I may have got my money back after 7 days. Never ever again.

"Our fantastic little co-op"
I feel the need to share just how great our co-op is. I’m always greeted with a kind welcoming, “hello.” Sue and Andrea in particular make my day, always happy to help. Credit where credit is due so thank you.
