"THIEVES, LIARS AND CHEATS. COMPLETE CON ARTISTS."

Do not fall for the sales clap trap from the scoot salesmen, all they are after is your bank account account details and hard earned money, and they will deliver nothing in return. I wasted in excess of £1,500, which I handed over
to this bunch, and I got no customers in return. I have since been in contact with other local companies who have had exactly the same experience as myself, with this same company SCOOT.
Stay safe, NEVER buy over the telephone. as this is how this company and other companies like them get their sales.

"tired ?"

hi
i know we have coverage with scoot , for a long time , but service and contact are only when payment needed , every time i speak to some one the number of towns or key words reduces from our original record in ? 1997 ish onwards /not hearing the word scoot from any contacts ,which i have to say must be at an all time low , we sell draught excluders & rubber extrusions to many markets and our phone/ e mail response in 2015 is damm dismal , not sure if scoot pile in any effort any more ?

"Liars and then some"

Tried to say Google teach them how to work with the Google algorithm to get you rankings others can't. Not even Larry Page co founder of Google know that info anymore as they have a thousand or more PHD's who have locked down the knowledge.

"Excellent!!"

I really can't fault the product and services I received from scoot and found the whole process easy and good value for money! I have a very small bed and breakfast and my bookings have dropped due to the larger hotels getting knocked up in the surrounding areas! I desperately needed help in getting my business out there and for me scoot where the experts who done it for me! My SEO ranking has increased to my website and bookings have gone up. I will definitely be renewing my priority listing with them and look forward to doing more business with these experts in the future! I for one are obviously really impressed x thank you scoot :-)

"DO NOT TRUST"

This company is ridiculous. I had a call to get a "Lead Generation Site" I have a few issues with this. First of all I was told not to worry as it was a trial period and no money would be taken until I was happy with the Website. I thought Why not? . It cant do any harm so I gave my detals and was transferred to a girl in the web advisor team. To say she was rude was an understatement she talked down to me. Tutted when i was taking time thinking about what I wanted to appear on a Website for MY Business, a Business I have worked hard for 10 years to build and she kept being repetitive with her questions,to be honest she did not have a clue.
And to the "fantastic" website, well my 5 year old could of done a better job. I spoke to someone then called Tracy and dear me her people skills fall into the minus category. I had to hold the phone away from my ear as she was shouting down the phone telling me that I should obviously know this and well I should obviously know that. I felt totally offended by this whole process. The ONLY reason that I am giving this review even one star is due to Daniel and also Allison (Im sorry I do not know the surnames). They were patient, understanding and also took the time to see me as a small Business. You both are a credit to an undeserving company.

Beware of this company. Even though you do see results from what I have purchased it has been a total effort and time of which I dont have to waste.

A word of advice for your future customers, people who run a small Business dont "know" they are not "obvious " and dont need to be talked to with a rude arrogant tone. I run a Salon not a Web company. You are the experts (apparently).

"DO NOT USE THEM, REPORTED TO TRADING STANDARDS"

Scoot is a dishonest thieving company who I had to report to trading standards. For believing them I am an absolute fool, I encourage all others to stay well away from them and use other means such as Facebook & Google.

They sold me a premium directory listing for £200 + VAT. It was a very rushed sale. The sales woman told me that my direct competitor received several hundred clicks through to their website each month. This was a lie as I spoke to my competitor who confirmed this. They are a small online business like mine.

After a couple of months, it was obvious it was not working, I called up saying I had been mis-sold it. I was told I would be sent the call recording shortly. Nothing turned up a month later so I called back demanding this, but they said that they hadn't recorded the call - don't believe a word of it!! They upgraded the listing but refused to refund a penny. I had to report them to trading standards.

Now that the year is up, I have had about 200 clicks to the website - of which some are probably me and Scoot staff, with absolutely no revenue through them (I use Google analytics).

Never, ever, deal with this company.

"Basically, they steal your money. That's it."

Quite frankly I feel foolish for signing up.
I could rant for hours about my experience with these thieves and bullies, but I won't - I'll just keep it simple.
If you're getting the lengthy sales calls from the Scoot network - JUST SAY NO!
They will show you comparisons of a business 'Similar to yours' and promise you the earth for as little as £1 a day - or better - but take it from me, you will see no results at all, and you may as well burn your money.
When I called to complain that I had been lied to and mis-sold the service, the advisor told me that she takes complaints very seriously and that she would 'sit on the fence' before taking a side, and that she would look into the complaint. No surprise that she came back to me to tell me that she felt it was sold to me 'Fair and Square' - Which I can assure you, it wasn't. If you consider spending an hour on the phone with me even after I've expressed that I wasn't interested, for them to tell me that the proof was there, with phrases like, "So you're not interested in getting more business?" and "Your competitors are currently getting all of your business" etc.
But hey, I learn from my mistakes, and I NEVER make the same mistake twice.
AVOID AVOID AVOID

**UPDATE**

All you need to know in dealing with Scoot, is precisely in this thread, and take note of how long it took for them to post a response! My post was in 2015 - They responded in 2017... Sums it all up really.

Anyone considering using Scoot - I hope you read this thread - don't take the chance to see if it MIGHT work for you, trust me, it won't, we have tested it on your behalf and saved you the time, trouble and money.

You're welcome ;-)

"Sorry I ever touched them!"

I will echo what all the other reviewers so far have said: do not touch them with someone else’s long barge pole!
I wish I had looked for reviews before committing to them, but I only did so when I had problems. After many harassing calls, I finally succumbed and took out a Website companion Package and Facebook Booster package. I quickly found they do not keep their word, are self serving, have shoddy workmanship and it is doubtful there could ever be any good out of what they tried to do (except for boosting themselves). I am hoping that their poor service does not in someway damage my SEO which we have worked hard on (possibly not since everything linked to them, not to my own website).
I also have a paid for listing on the Scoot Directory but not a single response from that yet, this is not surprising now that I know how it works (or does not work - to be more accurate).
This has been a large waste of time on a small business and money thrown down the drain.
STAR RATING IS NEGATIVE

"Lowest of the low in web marketing."

I'm embarrassed to admit I let Scoot bully me into using their service for a year. I'll not be making the same mistake again.

I was first approached by Scoot for a local directory listing, and after telling them I wasn't interested, I was constantly harassed multiple times per week over a period of a couple of months.

In order to help their sales patter, they pointed out that we already had a 'free' entry in their directory which ranked highly for our brand name and top keywords. The rub of course is that they then used this page to advertise our competitors (complete with links to their websites).

Eventually I gave in, just in the hopes they would leave me alone, and I could fix the damaged caused by them associating our brand with our competitors. £200 later I was set up on their local directory service.

Before the 'ink had dried', Scoot were on the phone again, this time with a different sales person. Their purpose it seemed was to tell me that my local directory listing was ultimately a waste of money, and what I actually needed was a national listing. From what started out at around £1000 for a national listing, I talked them down to £500 on their most popular directory (The Sun) and paid up in the hopes they would stop calling.

Now my account is up for renewal. A helpful Scoot employee told me that our organic rankings had benefited from their service and that we'd had over 2000 click throughs from their directories. Wow!!

A quick look at my analytics and logs presented a different picture. 6 click throughs and no conversions.

When the renewal call came, I told them I had no interest in renewing, so the sales guy said it would be okay to drop the national listing but we should really keep the local listings. When I pointed out they weren't worth pennies, never mind £200 he promptly hung up.

The lesson here is that Scoot represents a dying beast when it comes to web marketing. If you do the web right, you don't need directories and Google is actively trying to shut them out.

The problem is they'll happily lie to you and line their pockets with your money as long as they can.

If they come calling, do yourself a favour and tell them where to go!!!
