"If it is not theft, what is it?…"

We trusted the school and booked a trip for our son with Explorica! They cancelled the trip due to COVID and we have not received $1 refund yet, 7 months later!
Other travel companies have fully refunded the students!
Will never ever travel with them even if that means our kids loose school trip!

"Unreliable and not trustworthy!"

You trust a company to do the right thing during a pandemic. All airlines, hotels, etc all did the right thing and returned money to those whose trips were cancelled. But Explorica is keeping those returns and expecting the insurance company to pay out. That is insurance fraud at its best. I would never use this company again! I will advocate that our school boards locally never use them again either.

Still waiting for a refund for sons trip cancelled in March. They won't accept responsibility for anything and keep playing a blame game. I wouldn't book with them if you are ever concerned about a possible disruption in your travel plans.

My daughter’s school trip was cancelled due to Covid. It has been 7 months and still no money from Explorica or Old Republic Insurance. They keep blaming one another and nothing been done!
I do not Recommend them at all!!!

"Never Ever Book With Explorica"

Our school booked a trip to Eastern Canada through Explorica. Every member of the group had to buy mandatory cancellation insurance. Covid Struck and School Board Cancelled the trip. Explorica got fully reimbursed from tour operators, airlines and hotels. We the people that paid recieved nothing. Do your research, find a trust worthy tour operstor

Still haven't recieved our refund 7 months after trip was cancelled due to Covid. Playing games with the insurance underwriters Arch Canada. They have our money and are keeping for themselves.

We booked a trip to paris for our daughter with her class. We paid over 1500 and then had to cancel due to covid 19. They took 399 of our money and said that we owed them fees for canceling even though there is a global pandemic. Then they refused to call us back. When I finally got someone on the phone he hung up on me and the next person was snarky. They are still refusing to give back the fees they took even though there is a pandemic. As it turns out they even get to keep the fees if they cancel your trip for no reason. Crooks and thieves work at this company.

We were told that we would get our money back if we bought the insurance nothing was ever explained to us by the agent that we needed to buy a plus insurance, So evidently we bought the regular insurance on the trip, Because of covered 19 we had to cancel this trip, Out of $1400 they gave us back $300 $1100 got to stay in their pockets while hard on money Got totally wasted for them to keep, No airline tickets for bought no reservations were made as the trip was not until March of 2021 they had plenty of time to give us back all of our money as nothing was reserved as in hotel or anything, They have had several class action suits against them

"Awful company!!!"

Awful company!!!
Worked with them 3 times as a freelance Tour Manager and it was an absolute nightmare.
On the last one, I broke my ankle and I was completely abandoned by them. No duty of care what so ever at any point in time!! I even had one of their Directors on that tour, who swiftly took off when I fell and never followed up until about 3 weeks later to see how I was doing!?....
They were absolutely useless. All my experiences with them left much to be desired. Not surprised they've gone under...

"Never use Explorica/Worldstrides"

Very deceitful company. It’s unbelievable to me how schools can use such a company.
My wife and son were on a school trip to Europe that cost $8000. The trip was paid monthly on a credit card. The trip cancelled due to The COVID virus. We were suppose to receive partial payment in July then told August. Now the company has filed bankruptcy so we will never get a refund.
Never book thru this company. I have a better idea never trust the schools to pick a trip for you. Book your own vacation thru your own travel agent and pay all at once at the last minute.
