After a bit of figuring out how to navigate the system I received all of my slides digitally. The process was easy and customer support was super helpful! I didn't notice too much in the way of editing improvements in my pictures but that is something I can and will enjoy doing myself now that I have access to them on my computer. All of my slides were returned to me safely and the price was very reasonable.

I have 5500 slides in reels and have decided to pare them down and get them digitized. The first 300 were done by Costco and came out pretty nice however this batch of 300 were done by ScanCafe and they look better. I will continue to sort out my collection and have ScanCafe process the remainder.

Some nice touch-up work although the flash images could have been toned down a stop or so. I’ll have to fix that in an editing program. But overall, good job on the scans as usual. The videos ... I don’t have a VCR anymore so I guess I’ll never know if the stabilization or rolling shutter was in the original or was correctable in the dub process. But on a couple of the tapes, it’s unwatchable. Ah well.

Had to redo the scans due dust and scanner errors that left green dots...but to their credit, they redid them all. Pretty lengthy process as a result.

I sent my precious slides from a trek to Annapurna Base Camp, Nepal in 1970 off to ScanCafe. They acknowledged receipt. In a few weeks they notified that the slides were scanned and could be downloaded. And they returned the slides and digital flash drives to me.
