On 28/09 I reported a leak and went through insurance. This leak meant we had no water, heating and had to keep electricity off. An engineer came same day as scheduled, when he turned up told us he was not insured for trace and access and we had to take the ceiling down ourselves which we did and then call back to arrange for him to come out again to fix the leak. He marked the job as complete and no further action needed to be taken. I chased the company for the next few days and had no updates as they couldn’t get hold of the engineer
On 03/10 a second engineer came who told us the issue was not covered by our insurance which was not true, no report was received by the second engineer and they were looking at arranging a third engineer. I stated on multiple occasions we had no electricity, water, heating and nowhere else to stay. I asked repeatedly if we could arrange own trade and claim this back through insurance and the question was avoided until I continued pushing as we were getting nowhere with the insurance company
On 04/10 I was finally given approval to go ahead and organise our own trade. I had received quotes the same day and sent over quotes which were repeatedly chased until I finally got approval for the works on 06/10
The leak was fixed on 09/10
It is 18/10 and I am still waiting for them to acknowledge my paid invoices
