Dubarry of Ireland

"Dubarry, more style than substance"
Both my wife and I have a pair, both are used heavily but are cleaned and treated regularly. My wife’s boots are three years old, the leather cracked after 18 months and they leak; my boots started to leak after 20 months. I spent time in the army and used goretex lined boots there. Much heavier use but no leaks – the Dubarry boots seem to me to be poorly made, using low quality material. They’re definitely not a welly alternative. Seems the high price is simply a marketing ploy to persuade buyers that they’re good quality. Don’t be fooled, they aren’t.

"Riktigt dålig kvalite"
Riktigt dålig kvalite! Har använt mina boots sparsamt under två månader efter att de legat oanvända i skolåda ett år. Sulorna är helt spruckna och delat sig, från tårna till klacken på båda stövlarna och går inte att laga. Sämsta köp nånsin! Inga mer Dubarry för mig!

"Avoid Dubarry like the Plague wish I had read reviews first"
Late Nov 2020 I purchased a Navy Sheedy and the first pair of Sligo in a size 39. UK 6 was more like a size 37 UK 4. I sent them back special delivery to be replaced after no replacement I chased the Distribution Barn in Chipping Norton Oxford up to be told by a female. I did not enclose paperwork in parcel Lie number one! Replacement arrives Faulty zip on left boot frayed and sizeing totally wrong once again.
Early Dec I sent Sligo boots back along with the tagged unworn Sheedy I took photos on my iPhone of the contents to prove what was enclosed in the box has I had a feeling I would be lied too again. I sent the parcel Special delivery at a cost to myself once more of £14.00. 10 days go by no refund so I called this crap company to be told by another female who said she was a manager so called Manager! Lie number two. Quote "Send us a photo to prove the fault on the boots and there was no Navy Sheedy in the Dubarry Box!!
I hate liars and was outraged has a customer spending a total £434.00 to be told after they received goods the following day returned there was no Navy Sheedy £85.00 I phoned this manager and told her if I was not refunded I would issue County Court proceedings against this thieving so called Company. Her reply was "Do you take everyone to Court" I thought no women just Lying Thieves like Dubarry!
Avoid this crap overpriced rubbish now all there goods made in the Far East and run by Liars and Thieves.
Just read Reviews on page 2. I am not the only one who has them down for liars. cheats and thieves.
If it was not for Covid lockdown I would have had then in County Court this month January 2021
I look forward to see who a Judge belives in March.

"Charlie saved the day!"
I ordered gloves+hat as a Christmas gift from the website and had some issues with delivery. I decided to email Dubarry but did not receive any help and a week later I was told half my purchase was cancelled, which is very stressful to hear as Christmas is a week away and my gifts were intended to be gifted as a set. I decided to call Customer Services and thank god I did as a lovely woman named Charlie picked up. She went above and beyond for me and solved my issue within 5 minutes, therefore my only reason for rating Dubarry 5 stars is Charlie!! Promote her and give the girl a pay raise as she saved my Christmas!

"Customer service none existent !!"
Customer service none existent !!! Having purchased a feather puffer jacket approximately 6 months ago I decided it needed cleaning. There were two different instructions on the jacket - one said don’t dry clean and one said do dry clean. Having checked google how to clean a feather jacket, it was obvious the best way was on a cool wash and cool tumble dry. I did this, even cleaning out my powder draw to ensure there was no fabric softener in there, and despite my due diligence the inner filling of the jacket balled up, but only in the back for some odd reason. As a result the jacket doesn’t provide the warmth for which I bought it. I emailed Dubarry many weeks ago and as I didn’t get a reply I emailed them twice more - still no reply! I’ve come to accept the fact that I am not going to hear from them and wasted my money on a jacket that I expected to get a good few years of wear from. NOT HAPPY !!!

"Save your pennies as sadly these boots…"
Save your pennies as sadly these boots are not worth the price tag.
I love quality, I’m happy to pay high for quality items that last. These do not live up to my expectations.
Two years in they are leaking. My sister is 3 years in and hers are too. I’m told by customer services that they have got wet too many times??!! Really?? Waterproof boots?
I’m perusing a refund as it’s not ok. I fear they’ve ended up like Hunter, meant as some sort of city boot not country wear.

"Very poor customer service"
Very poor customer service. Brought a £350 pair of boots less then 2 years ago, already the sole has split... I asked if I could pay for it to be repaired and they told it is out of warranty, it couldn’t be fixed and I should have taken better care of them. They have been used daily but have also been cared for regularly with dubarrys own care products. I expect so much more from such a company at such a price point. In this day and age of trying to be as sustainable as possible I will spend money on products which I hope to last a long time and can be repaired when worn through. Would not recommend at all quality of the product and customer service is substandard.

"I love the brand but...performance is rubbish."
**further update. A lady called Debbie has called and promised a new pair of boots. It’s testament to how much I like these boots that we are not asking for a £379 refund. Especially given that we keep being questioned about the usage. I totally understood not to use them around horses (despite the imagery) or salt water but was a bit amazed when asked if I was a dog walker.
They can’t come fast enough as it’s certainly warm boot weather.**
*Update. Olivia did indeed contact us to check we were real via trust pilot. We gave contact details and reference number. Heard nothing. So called Olivia at head office and left a message but as yet no call back as promised by a colleague. Meanwhile it’s been over four weeks since my boots were left at the store for repair and no one can update me on their progress *
I love the brand. But. I’ve had three pairs now that leak. The first pair I had 13 years ago was fantastic but the cost to resole them was prohibitive. So I received another pair as Christmas present. Unfortunately I wore them outside before we realised the sizing had changed and a 39 was not a size six but a size five and a half (turns out previous pair was a 39.5 which they don’t do any more). I sold these on and had to get a different style to get the right fit. Looked fabulous but leaked. Customer services is not helpful. They are so expensive but worth it if they perform as they are warm (if conditions are dry) and stylish. These were eventually replaced as they conceded they leaked (had to send them back for this). But the replacement pair now leaks also.
I got my husband a pair at the same time (which don’t leak) so that’s us feeling a bit stupid between us. False promise about being waterproof. They will also only guarantee them up to £50 if your £400 boots are lost in transit on the way back to them in Ireland to assess what ‘type of leak it is’.
Such a shame as consider us to be loyal customers and previously advocates.

"Expensive product, cheaply manufactured materials"
Like much of the feedback on here, Dubarry has changed significantly for the worst. I have some Galway boots that I bought ten years ago, but have had minimal use as I only really use them a couple of times a year. This year on getting them out I noticed a crack in the sole, so sent photos to Dubarry. Their response (similar to many on here) was: "While Polyurethane midsoles add greatly to underfoot comfort, for many Brands, they can, on rare occasions, breakdown under a chemical reaction known as “Hydrolysis”. Drying out can occur in this material, usually, after more than 10 years of life, although that may be accelerated through storage in a humid area, or lack of use."
This is quite simply absurd. So your £329 boots fail if they get wet, fail if they stay dry and fail if you don't wear them!! I mean, seriously? Their customer service was slow, and to add insult to injury they offered me a derisory 20% discount if I bought another pair.
The cobbler they referred me to said that he has had to repair 'literally thousands' of these boots over the last few years, and the only reason is because Dubarry use an outdated, cheap manufacturing process based in Portugal. For a few pounds more per pair they could use a different material for the sole and they would never have these problems.
Thanks Dubarry, but you can stick your 20% discount and I will simply shop somewhere else, where the price you pay is reflected in the quality you receive. Frankly I'd give you no stars if I could.

"Miserable customer service"
My boots lasted about 4 years and then the sole fell off. Complete garbage and customer service is a joke - I've reached out three times and they just don't respond. From what I'm reading here this isn't unexpected. I guess I'll try some kind of shoe glue, but for the price point this is absurd.
