These are lawyers appointed by the bank, you don’t get a choice. They are a low cost/ volume business where inexperienced/ unqualified staff do the process and a qualified person does not get involved until the last minute. This leads to frantic requests for further or duplicate information which could have been avoided. We tried numerous times to phone to resolve matters but you aren’t allowed to talk to the people making the requests ….. lots of delay and frustration occurs as a result.

I cannot believe they actually asked me to leave them a review after I COMPLAINED SO MANY TIMES!
The service is appalling and just slapping up a bad portal and pushing experienced buyers down to the lowest possible junior staff member is an error.
We receive our mortgage offer on 12 August and mid-December they still had not bothered to check for their version of the offer so we had to send them our version!!! WTAF?!
Their processes and technology platform are Mickey Mouse. The tech platform is untested. It has multiple glitches and uability errors.
On the platform, you cannot go back and adjust any comments or statements. They need a tech person to modify each change – it is cumbersome and inefficient.
We had a dumb as hell representative who ignored our messages. So we kept copying and pasting the same message over and over again until they finally answered the questions!
They work at extremes - we opted out of text alerts as TEXTS are NOT FOR BUSINESS USE! Their system cannot just select email alerts so the idiot staff member either sent us the same messages multiple times on text and email (even though we had opted out!) or TURNED OFF OUR ENTIRE CASE! - putting the whole case on HOLD because their system couldn't cope.
The rep could not be bothered to name documents that we were meant to download and review or save copies of – leaving them named as ‘output’ or ‘task’ - as if we knew what that meant! There was no user navigation to explain THE ONLY WAY TO GET COPIES OF IMPORTANT LEGAL DOCUMENTS WAS TO SELF-SERVE LIKE YOU DO IN TESCO!
There are no notifications of new documents to read or an explanation that they have no intention of emailing or posting you copies - so when they turn off your account access, you're effectively F88888D!
The rep clearly had NO LEGAL OR CONVEYANCING TRAINING! So had NO IDEA WHAT WE WERE TALKING ABOUT.
If your lender offers you free legals - refuse - just pay for your own competent solicitor because you won't find one at Gordon's.

Our bank chose these for us, we had no input into that. All seems fine at first but once it gets close to completion all of a sudden they start to check your documents and raise issues so everything becomes a mad rush. Unclear instructions on what they want so needing to get ID certified and re-certified.

My experience with Gordons Property Lawyers is really amazing. they only spend 2 weeks to complete my mortgage before Christmas, and my completion day is really close. i was worried about the whole process if they will have enough time to deal with my case, however, everything went so smoothly; their online system to communicate the progress of the case, raise questions, and answer questions is so efficient; I don't have to call them all the time, every communication is through an online portal that makes things so transparent and easy access. The staff is also so nice and friendly. Highly recommend !
