"séjour agréable en famille"

L'accueil est chaleureux et la chambre pour 4 est spacieuse, confortable. L'hôtel est situé dans un quartier calme et facilement desservi par les transports en commun (marche + 10 minutes de train de la gare Centraal ou 10/15 minutes bus ou tram du quartier des musées). Le petit déjeuner est très bien. Seul petit désagrément. Les chambres sont difficilement ventilées, soit la clim est trop fraîche et forte, soit pas assez.

"NOT RECOMMENDED"

THE ROOM WE HAD WAS UNDER REPAIR, THERE WERE USED CIGARS ON THE DOOR FRAME, NEITHER THE AIR CONDITIONING OR HEATING WORKED, AND WHEN WE WENT TO THE RECEPTION TO COMPLAIN, THE MAN WAS VERY RUDE, HE TOLD US THAT WE WERE IN SUMMER SO NO HEATING WAS NECESSARY AND IF WE WERE HOT, WE WOULD OPEN THE WINDOW THAT FACED AN AREA THAT WAS FULL OF MOISTURE AND MOLD, WE NEEDED THE HEAT FOR OUR LITTLE CHILDREN. THEY NEVER GAVE US CONTROLS FOR THE TELEVISION BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THEM.

"Dissapointing service"

I've been to XO hotels for ages now and it has always been my go to when I visit Amsterdam, which I do regularly. I've always had a wonderfull stay but this time I feel like a lot went "wrong". I emailed if it was an option to receive a room with a bath a week or 2 before arrival and they told me they couldn't guarantee this so it could not be booked in advance. I asked if it was possible to check on arrival or how does it work to receive a room with a bath, and they told me it was not a certainty but we should check on arrival to upgrade. When I arrived, there were no rooms available. As I thought because it felt like it was something that needed to be booked in advance.. Also, they mentioned since I didn't book the comfort room, it could not be with a bath... If I booked one of those, I probably would have. This to me, was very unclear in the emailing back and forth and upon arrival. No one mentioned this, if they had, I would have upgraded. That felt a little dissapointing since I always had the best time/service here. The person at the desk also seemed uninterested to help us, and I had to actually "prove" that I asked for a bath by showing my emails, which is understandable, but I felt like they had no trust or interest in finding a solution or seeing that the miscommunication coming from them, is the reason I was in this situation. Overall, the hotel was neat and met my standards as usual, but the staff and service felt dissapointing at that time..

"Third visit."

The staff on reception are always helpful and have a great 'can do' attitude.
The main chef in the restaurant is excellent and always ensures that breakfast items never run out. He also cooks a superb omelette. Our only small gripe is that when he is off, the stand in chefs are not as good and the hot food was barely warm.
Finally, the number 19 tram which normally runs from outside the hotel is out of action until Jan 2025 and we didn't find out until we arrived. It wasn't a problem for us as the main station is only a short walk away and the reception desk suggested alternative ways to get into Amsterdam Central.

"OK but wont be returning sadly"

Not welcoming in this hotel, we will not be going back, sadly, as we have had much better experiences in Amsterdam at more central and other hotels in the area. The staff do not engage much or say hello when walking by.
The bed was comfortable and we slept well, but the rooms were dark and dingy, not like the photos at all, a lot smaller than we thought and the entrance was deceiving.
Despite the self-check-in process and the ease with which we changed rooms, we couldn't help but feel a pang of regret about the lack of a bar. It would have been a great place to unwind and socialize, but unfortunately, they do not have a license for this, so it is something to bear in mind.
The breakfast was varied and offered a lot but the scrambled eggs had a weird plastic taste and defintely overcooked.
