My Fiancee and I had 2 weeks before our wedding. Blue Nile lies about the time that their jewelry will be ready to ship. They said it would be ready and shipped well before our wedding date. Now, 2 days after our rings should have arrived, our rings are still and production and have no estimated shipping date. Do not depend on Blue Nile. Do not shop at Blue Nile.

I searched long and hard for a diamond for my gf to the point of going crazy. The search tool on Blue Nile was easy to use and I found the exact size, color and clarity I wanted. I already had the setting so just need the stone and my jeweler made it look gorgeous. Nice packaging too.

"Gave 2 tries and both were frustrating fails"
My fiance and I first ordered an engagement ring and said that said that it would be delivered before Valentine's Day. This was great since we were going to announcement our engagement at a family event soon after that day. However, Blue Nile then changed the shipping target to be suddenly 2 weeks later than what they originally told us.
We ended up cancelling the order since the status of the ring never even moved to production after a few weeks, but it took several tries with different reps to get it cancelled. The first set of reps told us that we could only return the ring once we received it. I kept pointing out that they are wasting their own money producing the ring and shipping it to us when we already knew we wanted to cancel. I finally got a rep to just cancel the order after a few tries.
We decided to give Blue Nile a second try by ordering my fiance's wedding band through them. It was plain platinum band. The in-store sales rep suggested a ring size between 7.5 to 8. I had a feeling she was mixing up the ring sizes when I was observing her, and I should have trusted my gut. The 7.5 size we ordered ended up being too big, so we tried resizing to a 7.25. However, even this was too big. We went to a local jeweler to confirm my fiance's size, and he said that he was definitely a size 7 which was a full size smaller than what the rep originally suggested. When I asked Blue Nile to resize again to a 7 this time, the rep said that we would have to ship back the ring to first confirm if they can even resize the ring again at all. I reminded them that it was a plain band only and we wanted to just resize from it being originally a 7.5 to a 7, but he said that only upon a jeweler's inspection (ETA 2 weeks) could they even determine if it could be resized. They would have to just return the ring back to us if not. Our ceremony was going to be in 4.5 weeks, but they couldn't guarantee that the resizing, if possible, could be done within 4-6 weeks.

"Warning!!"
Warning!!! For a high-end Jeweler, they have the worst customer service. Order a ring showed up 3 weeks late. One delay after another. The ring showed up and within 20 days a diamond fell out of the side of the halo. Super embarrassing. Try to talk to a manager which you can't it is a "72-hour time frame" for a manager to call you. Which they never call you back. Still no callback. I have called every day with the same response. A manager will call you back.

"Blue Nile has to be the worst company I…"
Blue Nile has to be the worst company I have ever made a purchase from. They sent my wedding band AND my husbands wedding band in the incorrect size and did nothing to fix this. We did not have my husbands ring in time for our wedding after various promises that it would be here in time. We were given horrible recommendations on what size and style to get as well. The people working in the show room were even talking badly about their co workers right in front of our face. In our time they also passed three different associates to help us due to how unprofessional they are. After going to my local jeweler they were in disbelief of the recommendations given to us. There was a couple screaming yelling at the people who worked there in the show room and I should have listened to my gut instinct and not purchased from them. To make up for my various issues from them they gave me a 20% off coupon that did not apply to other sales when their website is always on sale. My local jeweler also said they were low quality diamonds. I have wasted so much of MY TIME trying to fix THEIR issues and ended up getting no where.

Great customer service. There was an issue with the order system, where the stone in a custom solution has been sold resulting in just the fitting going through on the order.
Through a few chats with customer service this was fixed.

"Poor customer service and communication"
I recently ordered a 50th birthday gift with a specified delivery date. The delivery date came and went with no communication from Blue Nile. When I reached out, they told me the "designer needed more time" and could not give me an estimated delivery date. I was also told it would take 3-4 weeks for a refund to be processed. This has left me out $600 for a month and with no gift for a party that is in 5 days. I will never shop here again.

Blue Nile is high quality beautiful jewelry. Customer service is second to none. I purchased my wife’s custom engagement ring and then her wedding band with Blue Nile. She speaks of them as her “dream ring”. She says she’s still in shock. And she gets an unbelievable amount of compliments.
