Reasonable prices but the showroom is not a great experience:
Upon picking up an engagement ring, we had some basic questions for a sales rep named Shalonda. Not only was she not knowledgeable, she was rude and you could hear the attitude begin to rev up in her voice. She had a very dismissive and invalidating tone to her answers which prompted me to ask for a manager. He literally said that he was overhearing the situation and apologized. He answered my questions right away and helped us with looking at wedding bands. He was legit but said he’d contact us when Men’s Wedding Bands went on sale. They’re on sale now but as you can imagine, never reached out.
TLDR: a fine jeweler without the in-person pedigree of a fine jeweler

I'm writing here as it's been 2 weeks and no reply to my 5 emails sent to you requesting a response in writing.
Having purchased a diamond eternity ring from you 3 years ago - through just general use, one of the diamonds fell out. Clearly it had not been fitted securely enough in the making, as there were no bangs or damage to the ring.

Defects are promoted as a major part on every product page! but now you are stating
“ Our lifetime warranty covers inspection, cleaning, prong tightening and rhodium plating.”
i see a diamond falling out of a diamond ring within 3 years as a manufacturing defect/error and therefore sent my ring back to you about 3 weeks ago. I was called 2 weeks ago stating as the ring had been worn and you could see general wear and tear on the ring, this ring would therefore not be covered under the warranty. I asked what the lifetime warranty therefore covered - would it only cover the ring if never worn??
I was also given the example that if you buy a car and have a car crash when it's under warranty, the car would not be covered by the warranty. I explained that if something broke through just general wear and tear of driving the car - then it would be covered by warranty - so I'm puzzled why this poor example was given to me. Again I asked, what does the Lifetime Warranty actually cover if it does cover manufacturing defects?
I was promised someone else would come back to me on this. I received one phone call - which I missed - and have therefore been chasing now for 2 weeks requesting someone emails me back. I have sent 5 email - and not a single reply.
Currently, I get no response. I have no diamond eternity ring. I have no idea how else to reach you to get a response other than to write something public and hope to receive a written response from you.
I would very much like my diamond ring back - in full repair - under your lifetime warranty that you promote ALL over your product pages and website.

I regret having to give you even one star. Your customer service is the worst I’ve ever encountered. I’ve given you multiple opportunities to make things right and received nonsense emails in reply. I’m not going to explain myself for the 5th time. Review my calls and emails and actually do something about it. And replace everyone I’ve worked with. You can look up your own dates too. I’m using todays date for my convenience.

Stay FAR away from Blue Nile, they’re the absolute worst company to deal with and nothing but con artists and rip offs. I purchased a diamond on 05/18 and have documented proof they had the diamond and confirmed with me that it was in production and fully paid for. But on 05/21 they emailed me and said the diamond is not available and they “hand selected” me 3 other diamonds to choose from instead. All 3 diamonds they offered were of horrible quality compared to the one I was SUPPOSED to of received. They were also more expensive versus value/quality of the one I tried to purchase initially. This is the old “bait & switch” tactic this company uses. I had already purchased a diamond but they mysteriously don’t have it but want me to purchase a lesser quality borderline trash diamond for the same price or even higher than the exquisite diamond I initially tried purchasing. I gave customer service the chance to make things right and they were absolutely horrible to deal with, they took no accountability and didn’t care at all that they had ruined my plans for proposing to my girlfriend. This company is appalling and very deceptive. I STILL haven’t received any refund and I’m considering legal action. I hope everyone that bluenile has ripped off files suit and sues them into bankruptcy. That is the least they deserve.

Buying jewelry online is always a risk. The jewelry you order will never be as nice as you think it is when you order from bluenile.com. In addition, they offer discounts that they take away once you go to check out. It’s your dollar but you’re better off shopping at Tiffany, or Mikimoto or any of the other large jewelers. These guys are Internet scammers sending out discounts that just won’t apply to you once you get it in your basket.
