"Can’t fault it.. I’m a Karndean convert"
We have karndean in our kitchen, lounge, 2 bedrooms. 2 en-suites and our main bathroom, it’s fabulous.
We have floor to ceiling windows in our lounge which let in loads of light and has a greenhouse effect in summer and there is no noticeable colour change after over 10 years, unlike the sofa which has bleached badly. Our kitchen floor has been down over 15 years and looks as good as new, I’ve never had to do anything to it other than wash it.
We’re having two more bedrooms laid in early December, really can’t fault it, though choose a good fitter and ensure they clean all glue residue immediately.
We have one scratch in the lounge from a chair leg which was our own fault, it had a defective pin on the leg. It’s so easy to look after I truly wouldn’t have anything else.

"Wish I'd bought a cheap roll of lino"
We picked karndean opus for our new kitchen thinking it'd be hardwearing and low maintenance. While it looks stunning within days of fitting, in September, tiny scratches started to appear then a cup was dropped, less than 30cm, which resulted in a deep scratch. I lavish more care an attention over it than I would an antique; shoes aren't allowed, the dogs' feet are wiped before they come in, I use the soft attachment on the hoover rather than the quick whizz over the rest of the house gets as I'm terrified of more scratches. A home's supposed to be lived in and enjoyed, especially a brand new kitchen, and I've never been precious about anything. If I had my way I'd rip it out now and get some vinyl from a discount carpet supplier but it cost £2.5k so I guess I'm stuck with it for a while.
One positive: our next big project is to replace the groundfloor flooring - we won't be fitting karndean

Just recently installed Van Gogh in a restaurant located in Liverpool. The wood design is wonderful and match my restaurant perfectly. Positive comments received from customers.

"I wish I'd read these reviews before buying"
I wish I'd read these reviews before buying. I have had my karndean floor for two years now fully aware that there may be 'slight fading' when choosing this product. Foolishly I thought 'slight fading' meant exactly that - no more than a carpet might fade in direct sun over the years. After two summers the flooring nearest my french doors has completely changed colour. I can't believe that's happened after such a short amount of time. I'm so upset as it took me ages to save up for. I really feel like i've wasted my money.

"Terrible company to deal with"
Terrible company to deal with . I own a flooring store in California. We are a five star company that Karndean is damaging our reputation .
We had a client that saw a picture of "Karndean, Van Gogh, Country Oak"- This is not a product we carried but they really liked the look so i bought a display and sold them over 2700 sq ft .
The product was acclimated inside the house for 2 weeks. The house was just remodeled with brand new smooth underlayment over plywood subfloor. A moisture barrier installed under the house as well. The house had new insulation , new hvac with temperature control (always between 65-75 degrees). Absolutely no direct sunlight. Basically the most perfect installation set up you would ever get on a jobsite.
We had two flooring contractors and a union journeyman flooring installer (combined 70 years experience) glue the floor down with Karndean adhesive. Our clients moved in about about a week after install. Everything was perfect for about three months then the product started shrinking every where and i do mean everywhere.
Karndean refused to send out an inspector (every other mill would have had someone look at immediately) so on our own we hired two different licensed inspectors (without either knowing anything about the other inspection ) .
Both inspectors came to the exact same conclusion- the product is 100% defective.
We also sent Karndean a couple of planks we pulled up from installed floor along with a couple of left over planks that clearly showed the shrinkage . Karndean has refused the claim .
I have dealt with a lot of mills over my 35 years in the flooring business but this is the worst.
We feel bad as our clients based wall colors and furniture choices off of flooring colors.
Absolutely the worst flooring experience ever!

"Don’t buy Karndean Knight Honed Oyster…"
Don’t buy Karndean Knight Honed Oyster Slate! It looked great on the sample and the photo in the brochure, but neither shows that some tiles have black splodges on them that look exactly like stains. We really thought that they were stains that the plumbers had left behind. The floor looks awful.

"Two ranges, both scratch and dirty"
We purchased Karndean Opus Niveus back in 2018 to cover our hallway and open plan kitchen/diner. We were two adults, no children or pets at the time. The floor constantly looked dirty and scratched really easily - after just 6 months it was covered in small scratches and looked as if it had been down for nearer to 10 years. We did complain and went through the procedure with Karndean who after much back and forth did end up acknowledging fault and offered to completely replace and refit our flooring. We chose the Van Gogh range after having such a bad experience with Opus and it’s now been refitted for maybe 3 months and already this floor also looks dirty all the time. It’s not scratching as easily but it is still scratching more than I would like for a product which claims to be scratch resistant. We have no pets so at a loss what is causing it. We have spot cleaned and used the Karndean products and we just cannot seem to get the floor looking clean. Looks permanently scuffed and dull like many others have said. So disappointed after seeing and hearing so many good things. And unfortunately this has happened on 2 ranges. I wish we had never purchased as it’s so high maintenance for what was supposed to be a low maintenance floor!!

"Karndean Van Gogh Country Oak"
We had our Karndean laid last November and have been trying to raise our concerns regarding the fact that it constantly looks dirty, has residue from the glue in several places that simply won’t come off and what looks like a bullet hole in one of the planks. Had an inspector who came out 8 weeks ago from Karndean who came up with all the excuses under the sun for everything I raised and basically described it as the most delicate flooring on earth and that you have to be really careful with it! What a joke, this is not how it is pitched before sale! He cleaned a small area with Karndean’s own product Remove which literally made no difference yet he’d tried to convince me this was the answer to my problems. He would not tackle the problem areas with it, only a little area which was in a dark corner of the room so I couldn’t see any difference. He said his report would take a maximum of 6 weeks which I thought was a long time but still not heard anything after 8. Really disappointed. It looks cheap and dirty in well lit areas and looks like it’s covered in scuff marks all the time yet we wear slippers and have no pets or children. And we have spent thousands to get to this!
