"Bait and Switch..."
Was looking to order a new bike from their website, one of their sales reps contacted me with a special link to buy. Turns out the bike is magically out of stock when i go to check out but there was conveniently another model for $1,000 more available....buyer beware.

"Son bought a $2500 Specialized bike…"
Son bought a $2500 Specialized bike from Eric's in Maple Grove on May 17. Did not have time to ride much and took it out and the derailer completely broke. Took it back to them May 31 and they just told him the would not warranty it and he would have to pay for a new derailer and installation. He didn't even have the bike 2 weeks and maybe rode it 3 or 4 times tops and never crashed it, it just had a faulty derailer. Picked it up today and they said they couldn't warranty it because there were scratches on the swing arm. Well, yes there were because the chain kept on falling off. DUH! Won't be going back to this store and will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office. Poor service and Specialized should have warrantied it, but they just wanted the cash so never even checked. Bad service, rude people and they have such a big business, they do NOT care about customers.

"Bad experience with Eric’s Bikes"
I ordered 2 Specialized bikes from Eric’s. I was charged $150 for shipping for both. I asked for one bike to be exchanged for a more expensive model before the order was shipped. Customer service made the exchange and said they would waive the 2nd shipping fee. I received an email 2 days later showing the tracking numbers indicating the bikes were near Chicago and I should get them tomorrow. The next day I received an email stating the shipment was cancelled. I called Eric’s and was told one of the bikes was never shipped due to damage. Also found out they never waived the shipping on the exchanged bike and didn’t ship that one either. Now a week has gone by and I have to start all over but definitely not Eric’sBikes!
re: Customer service was less than helpful! They still show the M/L como 4.0 is available.!!! It’s not!

"Erik’s selling beat up bikes as new"
This is what goes for a “new” Specialized bike at Erik’s.
When I went to pick it up a week late, as they missed a promised delivery date with zero communication, this was rhe condition I found the “new” bike Multiple scratches and dings on the forks, front light, and rear fender.
When I pointed it out I got a shrug.
When I asked for compensation or a new bike I was told that was not possible unless I wanted to pay another $150 to have one delivered My response, “this is not a $200 walmart bike. This is a $3000 Specialized bike.” Again the shrug and told I could speak to the manager. After more excuses and finagling i eventually got a $100 gift card out of it. Not worth it, but I did want the bike and it’s not available elsewhere in the city.
Now I’ll just have to vent by writing reviews on all the social media platforms I can.

"False advertising"
Advertised a bike on line that clearly said $49 shipping. When I called to buy it thay said it had to be in store pick up only. They said they had no idea why it quoted shipping. Bike was a 2 yr old leftover. You want to sell the bike or not? It's a bike shop, sell and ship all the time. Ive worked in a bike shop, its not harfd. To me it's false advertising. Seems they are too big and customer service suffers as a result.

"Beware, you may be shipped an open box or used item that's advertised as new and unopened"
I ordered a new and unopened item to give as a gift. I expected it to be new in box and sealed. The item I received has a dirty box with broken seals. Inside of the box, items have been opened, unwrapped, and are missing original packaging.
I contacted support and they stated that the item may have been in a display case prior to repackaging it and shipping it to me. I'm not sure why the cords would have been unpacked and unwrapped if this was only in a display case and never used, but it's possible. UPDATE: Upon using the item, it is clear that it was used and returned, since the item was not even reset to its factory state.
In any case, stores generally sell open box, demoed, or returned items at a discount. I did not order an open box item. I ordered a new and unopened item to avoid any concerns that go along with an open box item. Additionally, it is difficult to gift an opened package with a dirty box, whether it's been returned or not.
Erik's offered to accept a return for the item, but support did imply they often ship open box items as new without warning. Consumers should be aware of this policy.

"Joke company sent the completely wrong boots"
Ended up ordering invado of vans snowboarding boots from them. The shipping was fine came pretty fast for standard shipping. The only issue I have with this company is I told them they sent me the caviar color and I ordered black and white. I advised them of this and they literally told me oh well that’s the only one we have. They don’t even have caviar color listed on their website. Did not offer to make things right with there mistake joke company to do not order from them dropped 200 dollars on boots that I wanted and there not the right ones.

"Ugh!"
they claim to carry the most bikes in the usa (nothing that i would want). it would be nice for a “local” bike shop help to carry at least a 80mm presta valve for a 25mm tire and better yet a salesman other than a kid who actually knows whether or not what he gave me doesn’t fit until i showed him
their teenage mechanics are -fly -by -nights and when i finally found one after who knows something he quits in 5 months he figured it it out
erik’s is a shop who just happens to sell bicycles like walmart and that’s being kind
