"Never buy excess protection from Vehicle Rent, its a scam!"

I have booked with Vehicle Rent a couple of times in the past and never had a problem. However, I had never needed to make a claim using the excess protection before. I always purchase this extra (whoever I book with) for piece of mind, in case of an accident and fortunately I have never needed to use it until now.
I was in an accident (I was hit from behind by a car tailgating me) with my wife and 1 year old daughter in the car, thankfully everyone was uninjured. I submitted all documents I had to make my claim, the only thing I didn't have straight away was the police report, as in Montenegro this takes 7 days to be produced and I had returned home by that point. Green Motion in Croatia got hold of this police report and submitted it to Vehicle Rent on 6th Dec. Since then, Vehicle Rent deny receiving this and are doing nothing to process my claim and refund me the €1200 Euros that was charged to my credit card. I don't have this this money myself and my credit card debt is growing every month. They have even stopped answering my emails now!
The claims department don't have a telephone (very convenient) and the only people you can speak to are in customer services. They are very nice, but can't do anything to help me, they can't speak to the claims department either and their managers aren't allowed to speak to customers, unbelievable. However the craziest thing of all, is that they seem to know this kind of thing happens all the time and the last person I spoke to even suggested I should probably look to get some legal advice!!!!!!!!!!
There is no reason why my claim shouldn't be processed, but after reading the dozens and dozens of similar stories here on Trustpilot, I am getting worried. As I was advised by their own customer services department and other customers, I have contacted Skyscanner and the UK European consumer centre. So fingers crossed someone can help me!

"Excess Insurance con?"

I hired a vehicle back in Aug '19 and had taken out the excess ins cover. Scraped the bumper and was charged 225euros. Made a claim EXACTLY as I was asked, and was told the claim had been successful, but may take up to 90days for payment (ludicrous). However it's Feb 10th '20, and I've received nothing, and no responses from numerous e-mails, except auto response! Have just gone on the booking site, to get on the chat line and spoken to Sara,whose promised me it will be dealt with, quickly!! I'll let you know, got to say it's smelling of cowboy at the moment.

Good comparison site unfortunately that they also have on their site companies like greenmotion and CarsRent Poland which is a spin off the aforementioned greenmotion. Both companies "standards" are questionable. But still nothing against Vehicle Rent. Just my mistake not knowing that greenmotion is trading under different names. But I think I will remember that for future.

"FRAUDULENT COMPANY - SCAM"

Same as others victims. I made a reservation 3 months before my traveling in December and paid fully for the car rental, only to be advised 1 week before by vehicle rent that I will need to pay the amount again when collecting my car as there was an issue between them and the supplier Europcar. I was assured I will be fully refunded, it been a month and have not received a refund nor are vehicle rent responding to my emails. Don't trust this company!!!!

"Bad ... Really bad customer experience"

Booked a rental car in Iceland.
Booked and amount paid in full to them in October 2019. They were supposed to pay it to ProCar iceland but they didnt. They had 3 months until January 2020 to pay ProCar but they didnt. So i had to pay ProCar again. Then I had to ask my money back. They classify it as a claim and said will take 90 days to return back the amount. Havent received it yet. I heard from ProCar representatives that this is quite common for them.
Wonder if it is what they intend to do. This is a really frustrating Customer experience. Beware.

"Trotz Schadensanerkennung kein Ausgleich"

Ich reihe mich hiermit ein in die lange Liste der auf schadensausgleich Wartenden. Nach einem kleinen Kratzer am Mietwagen Mitte Oktober bei dem Mietwagenverleiher Wiber/Mallorca wurden 160€ von der Kaution einbehalten. Nach Einreichen des Schadens bei Vehicle Rent durch Check 24 passierte lange nichts, bis sich schließlich Check 24 nicht mehr für zuständig fühlte und den Fall schloss. Nach einem weiteren Monat warten, schrieb ich schließlich Vehicle Rent an und bekam sogar eine automatisierte Antwort, ich möge mich gedulden. Kurze Zeit später wurde der Schaden zur Erstattung anerkannt und die Zahlung zur Bearbeitung an die Buchhaltung übergeben mit der Info sie würden sich zur Auszahlung per Mail melden.
Seitdem warte ich und rechne, wie wohl in Slowenien Werktage (30) gerechnet werden.
Alles in allem ein einziges Hinziehen und Vertrösten und im Endeffekt kommt nix! Unseriös, schlecht und Abzockerei.
Ich verstehe nicht, wieso Check 24 mit solchen Firmen zusammen arbeitet.
