"Nothing but problems"

Nothing but problems. Technical issues with basic operations, slow transfers, the platform will log you out of your account frequently - meaning you'll have to restart whatever you were originally doing. Their customer service is severely lacking. Their customer service is the banking equivalent to "did you try turning it on and off again". Banking with them truly is just an overwhelmingly frustrating experience.

My experience with EQ bank has been fantastic so far.

Savings account with higher interest than their competitor banks.

RSP and TFSA account that also allows to buy GIC with higher interest as well.

USD Account that gives you a great exchange rate, better than the competitors and interest-earning when saving.

Keep it up.

"Hard to Reach"

They're very slow in responding to tech support. We signed up last week for an account and couldn't login to our account. We emailed them and received NO response.

For an online-only account, this is not a good sign.

"My honest review of EQ"

I have been using EQ bank for more than a year and these are benefits that I received as a customer :
1. Higher interest rates than most traditional banks
2.Easy to do internal and external transfer digitally
3.No minimal fees
4.No transaction or transfer fees for saving accounts
5.Has joint saving accounts, RRSP & TFSA accounts
6.Website is fairly easy to use

My recent experience with EQ was an excellent one. I made a mistake in contributing to my registered account but managed to have them reversed fully
with the help of Cathy, Senior Director of Customer experience and operations and her IT team. Cathy was very professional in responding to all my emails promptly and responsibly.

I believe when EQ started their joint saving account and registered accounts ( TFSA & RRSP ) , many customers tried to transfer their funds from another bank to EQ because of its high interests. As a result, there was a delay in my transfer as well ( 4 to 8 weeks). However, I must give credit to EQ for starting the registered accounts & joint account based on customer feedback.

Perhaps a few suggestions to improve customer experience for EQ :
1) Improve knowledge of customer service staff whenever there are new products
2) Enable customer to give feedback after each call to rate the service of the staff
3)Provide incentive to staff who consistently get good ratings for their calls
4) Hired extra staff when launching new products, as customers disliked waiting too long on the phone to be served
5)Improve interface system to include secure message feature for customer to communicate online & to remind customer when their investments are matured and due for renewal

I appreciate the availability of digital banks for all the previous reasons stated. However, I also am awared that the downside is that they do not have a visible bank where you can speak to someone in person . I believe given time , and as long as EQ bank continuosly work on the issues from customers feedback , it will be able to become one of the top choices of customers digital banks.

They really seem to be knowledgeable of the banking service’s in general.
