And unlike many other hybrid publishers, Atmosphere authors keep 90% of the royalties! You can upgrade your publishing package and get help with book promotion and marketing, but these are mainly in the hands of the author. I am very proud of the beautiful books that we have created; the covers and interiors are AMAZING!

"Admitting You don't know what you don't know"

For a first time author, Atmosphere Press was the perfect match, admitting I didn't know what I didn't know, when it came to publishing my book. What writer does? They were friendly, helpful and accommodating for every step in the process of getting the book to press. The first step, signing a contract, laid out in plain black and white, left no doubt as to how things work. The second step was working with the first editor, who has read the manuscript top to tail and is ready with pages of ideas and suggested changes, likes, dislikes and ways to possibly make it better, stronger, without losing your identity to an editor's red pen. That was a wonderful process to see the real changes it made to the quality of the book. The third step was a complete joy; the artist's creation of the book cover and to be involved at every artistic step. Every suggestion was considered and worked and re-worked into what will become my book's visual identity. As this creation is taking place, a team of what I like to think of as forensic editors go to work, looking at spelling, punctuation, confused ideas or meanings, etc., with your final approval. Then a cold read from someone not involved, like an accountants acumen with numbers, but with punctuation and words instead. Off to the press for a proof so you can see it in bound print with a last chance to find that thought that doesn't connect or a word out of place. and then you are ready to print...but oh, wait, arrives the calvary for promotions and a 40 page primer on what to do, with offered assistance. In the other worlds of publishing, you won't get a second look without an agent and an established following on a mountain of pre-published works.
Atmosphere Press has been a friend and mentor in every part of the process. I did not know what I did not know until I invited them in to my written treasure, and for that I am glad I made the choice to sign with Atmosphere Press.

If you need the best hybrid publisher out there, then I suggest you go with Atmosphere Press! Everyone is so helpful and quick to answer your questions or concerns. The cover design, editing, and layout design is exceptional. I've learned more than I could ever imagine working with my developmental editor. You have a say in everything, which I think is very important, and receive the amount of royalties authors deserve. If you are willing to put effort in marketing your own book, take their advice, and work hard to be persistent, it all will pay off. I published my first book with Atmosphere Press two years ago, and now I am reaching more people than I ever have, especially while publishing the sequel this year. I suggest creating social media accounts and learning how to promote your work the best way that works for you. It's working for me! And please take their advice from the promotional guide. It's helpful! :)) Thank you for being the reason my books are out in the world!
